the seat can actually can stabilize itself after ejecting but looking at the low altitude the ejection would be fatal due to the bank degree

Depends, modern Russian ejector seats have self-correcting system powered by rockets and gyroscope. If gyroscope detects seat is not upright it will fire small rockets to correct the seat upright before deploying parachute.

It such low altitude probably will have no time to correct anyway. sad.gif

Developed jointly by the SAF, Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Singapore Technologies Kinetics (ST Kinetics), Primus is the first self-propelled heavy artillery gun that entered service with the SAF.

The 155mm 39 calibre gun is compatible with all Nato type classified ammunition. The gun can fire at a maximum rate of six rounds a minute. Its burst rate is three rounds in 20 seconds. The gun is capable of firing at a sustained rate of two rounds a minute for 30 minutes.

Leonardo to develop Mangusta replacement for Italy

Gareth Jennings, London - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
16 January 2017

The Italian Army is looking to replace its Mangusta helicopters that have been in service since 1990 with a new type to be developed by Leonardo under the NEES programme. Source: Italian Army

Leonardo has been contracted to develop a replacement for the A129 Mangusta armed reconnaissance and attack helicopter for the Italian armed forces, the company announced on 13 January.

The multiyear contract is for the study, development, industrialisation, production, and testing of a prototype and three initial production platforms under the 'New Exploration and Escort Helicopter' (NEES) programme for the Italian Army (Esercito Italiano: EI).

According to Leonardo, the EI requires 48 helicopters to replace its current fleet of A129 Mangustas that are due to be retired by 2025. No further details on the new helicopter or its development programme were disclosed by the company in its announcement, except to say that it will produce "an even more technologically advanced product, with greater performance and lower operating costs, to meet arising needs in evolving scenarios for the next 30 years".

The EI received its original 66 A129s (designated EA-1 in national service) between 1990 and 2004, with 49 currently in service. The tandem twin-seat helicopter has gone through a number of upgrades during its time with the army, and has been deployed operationally in theatres such as Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, a Nigerian state official said that the Nigerian Air Force killed over 100 people after they accidentally bombed a refugee camp while on a mission against the terror group Boko Haram in northeast Rann, near the border of Cameroon.

The official is helping evacuate the wounded, many of which include aid workers.

Two eject in US Navy training jet crash

user posted image

QUOTE
A U.S. Navy T-45C Goshawk training jet aircraft crashed on Tuesday, off the east runway of the Naval Air Station Meridian.

The station reported that the incident occurred during a training flight and that both student and instructor managed to eject before crashing.

After the first responders arrived at the scene the pilots were sent to hospital for evaluations, the U.S. Navy said.

The T-45 Goshawk is a tandem-seat, carrier capable, jet trainer whose mission is to train Navy and Marine Corps pilots.

The aircraft is used for intermediate and advanced portions of the Navy/Marine Corps pilot training program for jet carrier aviation and tactical strike missions.

Two pilots were earlier injured at Naval Station Meridian when another T-45 crashed in September 2016.
