oh that. depends which you compare to. if just compare to bare savings account it's pretty good though i agree with the high minimal amount. but i know you are pro money market funds to keep savings so of course this can't beat that.

What I see in this because of the volatility and fast cash compared to funds.
What if you need the money at this instance but you cannot liquidate your money within today?
ASNB - weekend how?
fund - few day floating?
bank - anytime, anywhere

Keep la RM5k cash in bank account. Even your atm let you withdraw RM3k each tine
Use credit card la. As long as you have cash to pay off your credit card, it's as good as emergency cash.

It got nothing to do with truth but finding ways to maximise your cash workings.

At least better than basic saving account ok already. For newbie I would say no point go thru so much trouble to find a slightly better "SA". Over a period of 2-3 years while u kumpul fund for next big purchase or investment the amount u gain is negligible in all the enhance SA. So if u got Maybank, just go ahead with whatever convenient for u.

Anyway since this is eGIA thread, i think it's best to just close this thread. Since eGIA in its current form is not better than basic FD. And even more useless as "SA"

again.. U do know your maximization may not be the same for others with different requirements?
If U insist, of course it's your version of truth.

eg. $5K cash in bank account? U kidding me - i can blow that in 1 shot doing work or just transfering to my family.

Use credit card? heheh - some of us maxed out our cards (yes, i've >10, from >4 banks) due to biz, 0% BTs (woo free % for rolling, FD, investing, etc.), etc.

So, still wanna insist there's only "1 way fits all" to maximize? hm.. hmm.gif You're right, absolutely right laugh.gif

Unker, your lifestyle not the common Malaysian lifestyle. I am the normal Malaysian earning miserable amount. RM5k is basically more than my monthly income.

Everyone starts somewhere. You want to have more money in bank account, you need to give up something to gain something. For me, I save like crazy.

To increase your bank account numbers, you need
1) spend less/save more.
2) earn more
3) put your money to work

I still a poor fag but at least I am starting.

I just compared Maybank (GIA-i) and Public Bank (Term Deposit-i), rate having difference. Out of all banks, is it Maybank offer the best rate ?

Just tried placement yesterday around 4pm, principal 1k. Uplifted 10.30am today, no interest credited.
Just to check, is it only eligible if uplifted today 4pm as well for my case? Thanks in advance

Did you even read the earlier posts or maybank’s website? Egia no longer gives daily interest upon upliftmenr. Must complete min 1 mth tenure

It's 3.5p.a. Not per month. Not sure about payout as I haven't have time to test it out.
