i was just told by friend that i can use my Petronas Mesra card to redeem petrol directly at petrol kiosk.

i tired last night, slot in my mesra card and waiting approval, once approved, start pump petrol until it auto stop...

4,410 points for RM44.10 worth of petrol pumped.

Guess i will still stay with Petronas (8% CB) instead of jumping back BHP (while waiting application on 10% CB)...

Ooo can just slot the mesra card just like PGC and start pumping?
I thought need to swipe OTC before start pumping.

What i meant was like go to the counter and pass the card to operator to swipe it. Queue like the rest who uses cash at the counter.

Petronas Ikhwan (8% CB) + Mesra points is my best combo. It would've been perfect if Petronas Ikhwan offers 8% CB EVERYDAY. biggrin.gif

On a side note about this Mesra card, those who use cash to pay and provide Mesra card to the counter, in 10 times, based on my experience, only about 2 or 3 times points is successfully credited into the Mesra card. Meanwhile if use debit/credit card at the pump and then followed by Mesra card, in 50 times, only 1 time point won't be credited and even that you will know if points will be credited or not. For cash payment, the only way to know if your points is credited is to ask for receipt or after few days check online through the portal or app.

For card payment, how to know? After your card payment is approved, you will need to slot in your Mesra card, if card is read successfully, the next screen will prompt you to start filling up and return the nozzle upon completion.

If after card payment is approved, you slot in your Mesra card, and you still see it says to enter your Mesra card, your points will not be credited as the reader is not able to read the card. For myself, I will try to slot in twice or thrice as sometimes it's not able to read on the first time. If still can't read, I will fill up either RM1 or a few cents and move to next pump or fill up like RM10 or RM20 just enough till fuel up (this is when lazy to move to the next pump of course, especially when queue is long).

i've read somewhere that u can use this method:

1. Purchase RM100 Petronas Reloadable Gift Card from Lazada Online. Some credit card can give u cashback 5%. Actual pay is RM95/actual value is RM100.

2. Reload another RM100 for the Petronas Reloadable Gift Card at any Petronas station using Petronas Ikhwan during weekend to get 8% cashback. Actual pay is RM92 / actual value is RM100.

3. Free to use the Petronas Reloadable Gift Card at anytime during weekday or weekend since u already have RM200 inside but actual u pay is only RM187 (around 6.5% cashback).

4. Reload again in every weekend in the future to continue get 8% cashback, but u can use the card anytime during weekday or weekend. (8% cashback)

is this method really works?
anyone can confirm item #2? or actually reload is only by cash?

Can work but you still need to reload at a specific petrol station only since most of them does not accept credit card reload. I think the best way is to reload a month's petrol worth into the reload card so you won't have to keep going to that specific petrol station to reload again.

yes, i am thinking to reload max of RM625 every month since my usage is around that range.
can simply choose big2 petrol pump, especially at the highway to reload this. normally they have credit card terminal right?
or is it they have credit card terminal but does not accept for reload?

Yea, I remember someone told me in KV it should be the Petronas at Sungai Besi-Puchong Bypass. But then my fuel tank is big enough to last me a week so usually I just go and pump on weekend.

no. read the topic: reload TNG using cc

petronas gift card reload is exclusive at petronas, and only 1 outlet can do that (reported so far).

of course the title is for TNG but as i said, its my assumption.
as same as what Duckies mentioned above. Since they accept credit card for TNG reload so I think they'll accept credit card to reload Gift card as well
isn't that list is the most reliable source that we had currently? its worth to try to ask anyway.

guys, where to apply for mbb credit card other than online?

tried twice through maybank2u for gold and platinum petronas ikhwan, both got rejected
don't think should have any issue, as my salary got credited there, also have amex and visa signature with them

plan to use this card only for petrol to take advantage of cashback
