I could get some UV Feser tubings but it's pretty costly I'd say. How come this thread is so quiet? I guess not many water cooling users around these days? laugh.gif

Hi everybody,

I will soon join the WC club as I have ordered lots of nice stuff to clawhammer smile.gif

I have also started a worklog on my build project (Silverstone TJ-07): http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1132713

As of right now, I am still waiting for the WC gears to arrive, but I will surely need advice to setup the WC stuff once it will be there. So anyone is welcome to check my worklog and post their ideas/advices/comments wink.gif
*
Your stuffs are arriving this week bro biggrin.gif I'll let you know and you have a good case and WC parts coming up. Godlike rig! laugh.gif

Do you have the 1366 mount kit or know where I can get it? Appreciate your assistance.

Thanks.

Yes I do have the LGA1366 Pro mount kit and I've already PM-ed you earlier yesterday. We can discuss this in PM smile.gif

I7 is really hot. On my computer then my face all red already. Using V8 and 7 high speed120mm fans also connot tame the heat.
*
Mine is just as hot too even with water cooling smile.gif Thank you Intel for bringing us a high TDP and hot processor then introduce i5 which is somewhat cooler and lower TDP.

I think battery water is supposed to be either distilled or deionized. But since I'm not too sure, it is probably a safer bet to go directly for distilled water.
*
You've made the right choice Martin laugh.gif I've been with distilled and battery water since day one, never used coolant. Anyway, here's a lazy man's work on WC setup:

I've been running with filtered/distilled water for years smile.gif I don't think it'll do any harm.

The problem is, I don't understand how could distilled or battery water kill anything. These are all science so unless someone can explain pure water would make the copper explode or some sort of chemical behaviour then I think it's absolutely impossible anything would happen smile.gif

Yo Martin, you're right that the sleeving is not good enough because you'll still be able to see the colors of the wires after you sleeve smile.gif What I did was to color the wires with black marker pens before putting the sleeves on.

Yeah, that'll be tough and we just need better sleeves smile.gif If you can find them in Jalan Pasar then it'll be good as I'd like to get some for myself too. Lesser work to do as I don't need to colour off the wires to black before I start sleeving laugh.gif

I believe as long as you have mineral, distilled, battery water then it's fine. I've used all these types of water for years and has not damaged anything at all. We just have to avoid our rubbish tap water.

I think the H50 wouldn't beat the TRUE but even on par it would be a good achievement. There are just too many cheap water cooling sets around these days biggrin.gif

Wow, nice setup. The Feser UV sure looks good ain't it. Don't worry, I will bring you some compression fittings next time so it won't be so messy, hahaha.

It's obvious that H50 doesn't do the job well enough smile.gif Why waste money on it when we know? laugh.gif If H50 is really that good, everyone would stop buying proper/custom WC sets.

*
LOL, don't you want your i7 to get 60C++ full load? 89C is a bit hot for that baby and why waste time, energy and money on H50 instead of going straight to the right product for the big kids? laugh.gif

I dont think it will survive in an oced i7 4.5Ghz.

LOL, don't worry and I'm sure you won't regret. Once I went into water cooling a few years back I've never turned to air cooling again biggrin.gif It's quiet, a lot cooler and looks superb. You don't only get performance out of it but also a chance to pimp your rig laugh.gif

CoolIT Domino blew up and apparently there are lots of bad reviews for it too smile.gif

QUOTE(metsatsu @ Sep 23 2009, 07:56 AM)
and how is custom WC be of any better than this? similar mishap did happen in custom WC history bro, mind to point out the difference and further elaborate on this matter?
*
The chances of a Swiftech or D5 pump exploding is probably minimal and at least until now, I've never read anything like this before. If you do a quick google, you can't find much stories about quality WC pumps but plenty of stories about all these 1 set WC kits laugh.gif In a custom WC solution, the other parts (like radiator, CPU WB, etc) would never go bad and the leakage normally happens if you do not screw your barbs tight enough or tubings are not tightly fitted into barbs. Other than that, I don't see any reason things would fail smile.gif The difference is that with a custom set, it will not fail if you do it right but with kits like CoolIT, etc, it will still fail even if you followed the instructions 100%. The reason is because you have absolutely no control over what's inside and how it works, you just gamble and hope that the manufacturer ensured everything is packaged properly before being sold to us. If the worker missed out something in between, we won't know until we turn it on smile.gif Sometimes it can be disastrous like the poor guy above.

QUOTE(r4st4m4n @ Sep 23 2009, 10:05 AM)
It doesn't happen if you choose good and reliable components. All the Thermaltake and other so called WC budget sets are not reliable and you end up most of the time with some hardware killed. Most important component being the pump since if you hooked up your WC correctly (= no leak), that's the only component that can fail.

Swiftech pumps are rated for 50,000 hours MTBF = 5 years lifetime for 24/7 operation ... I guess you get what you pay for wink.gif
*
Thanks Martin, you have a good point there and yes, my Swiftech pump is still rock solid stable even it's close to 3 years old smile.gif Although it's expensive but I'm happy with it since it's reliable, totally silent and had the performance.

Products failing is common, there's always a certain percentage of failure rate but if the rate is too high then it's no longer a good thing sad.gif
