QUOTE(J1@l_ l_l l\l @ Jul 10 2010, 02:08 AM) Not sure bout the made quality of both MIPS and EK products. EK products are no where near MIPS when it comes to quality |

QUOTE(ezzydamvp @ Jul 12 2010, 01:02 PM) can refer HERE for the quality of MIPS...the nickel finishing is really2 bad. i was there when the block is unbox. it was like a scratch all over it...u can feel it with ur fingers. really bad QC. Actually I can't see anything about the part where it's bad? Maybe threads like this would be more useful: EK quality problem: http://www.realredraider.com/vbulletin/sho...ead.php?t=27730 EK quality problem: http://www.realredraider.com/vbulletin/sho...ad.php?p=131740 EK GTX470/480 problems booting up GPU: http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/index.php?mac...nt01returnid=17 EK 5850 back plate hitting chips behind the PCB: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=248005 EK 5970 water block, 84-86°С VRM temps: http://hw-lab.com/ati-hd-5970-watercooling...-ek-fc5970.html I agree that we can't blame them because everything has production issues but EK is just like Proton while other brands are probably Toyota's or BMW's It's just like defending that Proton is GREAT (although failure rate might be 40%-60%? - hypothetical example) and Ferrari's would have problems too (1%) This post has been edited by clawhammer: Jul 12 2010, 03:05 PM |

QUOTE(monsh @ Jul 14 2010, 06:34 PM) hopefully its way cheaper than EK block . Some of their blocks are comparable but for the R3E it's more expensive by a bit, still within the RM500+ range if you compare with the EK Acetal+Nickel anyway, the ram waterblock is compatible with dominator only ? QUOTE(DzX @ Jul 14 2010, 06:34 PM) There are too many types but the one shown is for Corsair/Mushkin Here's another example: ![]() If more people wants to buy, I can try to go a bit lower on the price. The cost is not that cheap as I thought it would be |

QUOTE(DzX @ Jul 15 2010, 01:05 PM) if u willing to spend rm99 for one fan Have you tried? better u buy 120mm noisebloker multiframe m12-p or 120mm gentle typhoon 1850rpm fan better perfomance.. Here are some reads (conducted by a normal user like us). The NB can't even beat the S-Flex with a comfortable margin (price VS performance): http://forums.vr-zone.com/hardware-arena/6...-pl2-m12-p.html Another example of Typhoon being a better pick to be used with radiators: http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling/70821...itch-noise.html I can only advice but the choice would go to the buyer. RM90+ for a fan is really difficult to justify unless it gives you a 3-4C drop (which does not happen in this case). |

I have tried enough of fans and those high end ones are always more or less the same. In the past, the market is about high cfm fans but today, it's about silent and high static pressure fans for CPU hsf or radiators.
My intention is to let people know that some are just fancy looking fans and we are paying for the design and aesthetics more than the performance. I am not stopping anyone from buying but if people insists then go ahead so don't get me wrong. At the end of the day, it their own money and my point is spending on a rm99 fan doesn't give you the performance you're paying for. |

QUOTE(J1@l_ l_l l\l @ Jul 17 2010, 05:13 PM) You can ask around in XS, RR-Tech. In fact those that are long enough in water cooling could easily tell you what brands are good and what's not |
