QUOTE(GeneJin @ Apr 11 2008, 04:01 PM) ok a few question before i go to my bank book. My replies above in blue. Well, not everyone would enjoy WC anyway so it depends on self preference 1. Swiftech MCW-60 GPU Waterblock can git 9600GT o not? Need RAMSink? or i can get the 8800 Unisink? which 1 better? COst wise VS performance wise. You will definitely need RAM sinks. I'm using those cheap old Thermaltake RAM sinks and they still work. MCW-60 is good enough and it should fit your card (check on Swiftech site). 2. I'm planning to go CPU, GPU and NB. 1 2X120MM rad enuf for all? or use 3X120 better? again, cost VS performance wise. I have CPU + GPU WB plus 2x120mm rad and my load temps drop tremendously after changing over to WC from air. My 8800GT vmem/vgpu modded never hit above 47C load even at OC-ed settings. However your ambient temp would play a role here as well. 3. Planning to get the best CPU and best GPU blcok, which is the best bang for buck? CPU i read that fuzion is king of the hill at the moment which DDmaze4 or MCW-60 is not bad also, so which 1? price VS performance. Maze4 and MCW-60 is about the same from what I read. They are also priced about the same so it's up to you 3. Maintanance wise, better to get cascade or wC better? WC is not that hard to maintain. Even with normal air cooling you'll still need to clean dust (which is also maintenance in some ways) 4. I'll be using D5 as my main pump, do i need a secondary pump if i have alot of blocks? The D5 (MCP-655) is a good stuff from what I learned from Metalzone also. It's good enough but you can consider dual loop also if you want. |

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Apr 28 2008, 08:59 PM) Think of going to liquid cool route. I'm using Masterkleer and I think you should do a one time investment on Tygons. I should've gotten Tygon at the first go and now I'm changing over. After do some homework, think of something simple like this: Swiftech Apogee GT(How to bow?) Swiftech MCR220 Radiator Swiftech Micro Reservoir 2x Yate Loon 120mm Fan Nirox Pump Whatever tube(Suggestion?) |

QUOTE(Justeafy @ Apr 30 2008, 04:35 PM) I was looking at the thermaltake armor+ lcs, it it with bigwater ? First, would your priority be the casing or water cooling? Some people like nice casings but some can live with normal case but wants good cooling Armor + LCS but now i see everyone saying custom one better than built in one so, my problem is I have RM1000 to spend on case and water cooling, what would you recommend? thx |

I changed from a Nirox to Swiftech MCP655 and to be honest, you can save a lot and still live with the cheap Nirox. It's not that the MCP655 gives any substantial differences in my small loop
The Nirox is 10 times cheaper than the MCP655 and that can be a very good choice if you don't mind that extra AC wire |

Algae? How did that came about? If we use distilled water then I believe it wouldn't have all these problems so easily?

QUOTE(Blood_Seeker28 @ May 12 2008, 03:03 PM) wah...rich people spotted.. Yup, I've sold it off already. To be honest, the temps are about the same (only a bit better 3-4C compared to IFX-14) and the only gain is peace of mind (no more 3 loud fans) clawhammer...wut happen to ur IFX-14? already sell it? how about ur temp between IFX-14 and ur water cooling rite now? think about changing my IFX-14 to water cooling also... |

Due to age and other reasons, I tend to have difficulties adapting to fan noises these days so part of the reason moving to watercooling is to reduce the loud fan noise and secondly to get better temps
The biggest improvement came from watercooling the 8800GT and ever since then, the load temp never exceeds 50C (previously it hits 70C) |

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ May 13 2008, 08:03 PM) I think liquid cool can outperform air cooler by 10 C,even IFX14 with 3 screamber also got gain, best of all price is about same(IFX14 with 3 screamber) and more silent.Liquid cool can be chill to do extreme oc too I think it depends on the situation and how you mount the radiator, reservoir, etc. Previously on my CM690, I had both the reservoir and radiator outside the case (it's in a mess - no nice tubings and cable management) and temps are indeed better as the air cond's cold air were blowing towards it. However when I have everything inside my Cosmos now, the temps aren't a big difference compared to IFX-14 and if you use 3 noisy fans, you'd probably be getting a better temp |

QUOTE(LExus65 @ May 14 2008, 08:55 AM) lichyetan, it difficult to get thermochilled or black ice rad here......... haha but after seeing what can it do compare to swiftech, i think worth the price to pay. LOL, I took up 5 months of my savings just for this tubing purchase.
