QUOTE(carloz28 @ Feb 28 2012, 07:05 AM) Let's be honest here, there's no other jobs in oilfield that pays you RM30,000 - 40,000 for 3 days worth of work. Totally agree with you on the working hours i.e non-sleep. But that also applies to the petrophysicist in town looking at logging ops especially during MDT.Even well control specialists doesn't earn that much money. Downside is, you must be able to work straight up 72hrs (min) without any rest in between and able to handle your subordinates and superiors well. Those above you and below you. I have seen engineers sleep in the dog house or on the floor for that matter. Make no mistake about it, life is tough in wireline logging and even the SCHOOL training is no honeymoon. Failure rate is 50%(my time) and many candidates failed at this hurdle or quit after the school. |

At the end they are sitting on chairs. Wireline engineers handle the field life which is much more difficult. A lot of stress, responsibility and Zero Tolerance. |

QUOTE(minah_ronggeng @ May 10 2012, 09:07 AM) Went to an interview with them but sadly unsuccessful. It was a session consisting of interviews and presentations. Although I don't work with them, but at least I have an idea of what they're doing, well..at least I have an idea of what the Sustaining team are doing because I was interviewed for the position of Sustaining Engineer. Basically in Sustaining, you'll be supporting the products that have been manufactured there. If there are any problems at the field on the seismic products, you'll be required to identify the problems and find the solution. The works are mainly based in Penang, but if you're required to go to the field, you'll have to go. They're also working closely with the Product Centre in Norway so at some point, you'll get to travel there |
