They have told us that the answer is going to come by email... did they tell you that they will call you ? I really hope that the answer will be a positive one and that I will get hired at Schlumberger. Good luck to you, too.

I gone through the final interview around the same time like u guys too. And i asked the manager when can I know the result of my interview. He said it should be a lengthly process, around 1-2 months. So, if you get nervous now, u'll probably got crazy in 2 months time? Just chill atm and hope for the best. Good luck. thumbup.gif

a simple google will do it..you can read the wikipedia for what slb has done in the past. you might be surprised how much an O&G company achieved.

QUOTE
The SEDCO drilling rig company and half of Dowell of North America were acquired in 1984, resulting in the creation of another well-known Schlumberger trademark, the Anadrill drilling segment, a combination of Dowell and The Analysts' drilling segments. Forex Neptune was merged with SEDCO to create the Sedco Forex Drilling Company the following year, when Schlumberger purchased Merlin and 50% of GECO.

from my experience, you will know the answer right after you finished the interview. usually they will give you some kind of hint whether you manage to secure the place or not. but for the formality, it usually take some time because they need to arrange the papers and legal documents. working in slb is one of many things and one of the most important is protecting the trade secret smile.gif

just like I said, just be patient and don't be too pushy for the guys. as azhanblur said, due to recession, there were some changes in the company. so it will be hard to say under the conditions but slb always hiring. at least you know you'll be in good hands in slb. make sure you read the wikipedia to know how much can you can get and achieve while working here.

The HR manager told us that we will have an answer in 2 weeks. Right after that, if we get a positive answer he will find us a job in Slb in a location in the world, this year, so right after we get a positive answer we will have to wait for a location and a date when we will start to work for Slb. And... I am really looking forward for a clear answer from them to be honest with you guys. smile.gif

I think the interview ends on a positive note and there look to be some hope but nothing is for sure with the recession and all that.

I called the HR yesterday to ask since the manager himself said he's actually going to decide it by the end of the day that I went for the interview and call us a week later.

HR told me that he still hasn't make the decision. oh well I'm just going that to rest and focus on getting my current job done.

if it's meant to be it will be.

Schlumberger is French?

Those who worked with French European companies can comment about their working culture.

There's stories behind French MNC companies. Alcatel, Alstom, Schlumberger, ..

Many Schlumberger staffs and departmental heads have recently left. Major restructuring/rearrangement going on with their departments there. The public is not aware of this even fro the news.

I'm just bloody optimistic in this kind of thing. To the point I don't think it's good for me.Should be more pessimistic.
