seriously, it's not that much important if you fail to build the rig and all that.Of course the questions then are easier to answer if you successfully did it.
p/s: it's not fun to spoil how to build the rigs. have to use your eng skills.

oh yeah the rig needs to be 1m from the ground, total height at least 150cm I think?
can at least support 8 golf balls as well

yeah as I was saying earlier. it doesn't matter if you build the rig successfully, questions are easier to handle that's for sure.
but they want to see how you interacted during the process with your team and how you answer their questions.
i failed to build the rigs but I managed to get through until the third interview.

I think the interview ends on a positive note and there look to be some hope but nothing is for sure with the recession and all that.
I called the HR yesterday to ask since the manager himself said he's actually going to decide it by the end of the day that I went for the interview and call us a week later.
HR told me that he still hasn't make the decision. oh well I'm just going that to rest and focus on getting my current job done.
if it's meant to be it will be.

I'm just bloody optimistic in this kind of thing. To the point I don't think it's good for me.Should be more pessimistic.

I do think that every single job is like that.
gave you a task..off you go doing it. certainly can ask question but there must be initiative to do it independently.
why on earth this recession must happen during the time I just graduated.
but funny thing is, I just googled about slb hiring, and the hiring manager in europe just gave an interview on their hiring and that they're positive on hiring new trainees.8000 per year.
oh well, again that's an interview so of course it was positive.

yeap they did. after a few months 45% drop out.after 5 years or so only 20% survived.
and since their basic hiring policy was to hire fresh grad so I wondered if they kept firing people, who will replace all of these people since the job is labor intensive and require technical skills.surely they cannot stop their recruiting program?
the ratio of the hire is like 10% goes to r&d,10 % goes geologist and marine thingy, a few percent to something that I can't quite remember. but the majority goes to operation.
and it said currently the labor force for the fields is low in us area, high in indochina areas.

I'm sorry .it was on sunday and I don't remember the key word.
it was maybe a combination of schlumberger+hiring+ 2009
or something close.
it was just a random article that I come across by some europe news or something like that.
haha i too cannot find the article again.

i see but how does it affect the one that has gone through up to final assessment?
i've read response on people that has been delayed a long time and the response was to call the hiring/training manager instead of hr because the hr is incompetent.

yeah but I was using my computer back in malacca and I clean out the key word every time after log off. firefox set up.
we'll just have to see how it goes. no use pressuring the company since we all know how it is nowadays.

no i didn't get the offer letter. i was saying it's true they've freeze their hiring
basically their email was like
'due to economic recession we cannot finalized your interview results until june'
and my friend received
"there are no post available" which when they call hr it means they're unsuccessful.
in conclusion, if the economy situation looks better or progressively better in june, i MAYBE get the job.
so finger cross and hoping for the best. all i can say i'm glad the issue is done and i can relax till june.
