After reading the posts, I must thank Azhanblur for giving really useful insights about the work/life in Schlumberger. I am one of the candidates who is shortlisted for a FET position for 2009 intake and after reading what Azhanblur wrote, I should know what to expect if I am given the chance to join Schlumberger. Hope my interview will go well. smile.gif

I gone through the final interview around the same time like u guys too. And i asked the manager when can I know the result of my interview. He said it should be a lengthly process, around 1-2 months. So, if you get nervous now, u'll probably got crazy in 2 months time? Just chill atm and hope for the best. Good luck. thumbup.gif

a simple google will do it..you can read the wikipedia for what slb has done in the past. you might be surprised how much an O&G company achieved.

Added on February 4, 2009, 9:47 pmmilleu and donovan111,

from my experience, you will know the answer right after you finished the interview. usually they will give you some kind of hint whether you manage to secure the place or not. but for the formality, it usually take some time because they need to arrange the papers and legal documents. working in slb is one of many things and one of the most important is protecting the trade secret smile.gif

great to hear that markiliz. rclxms.gif yeah... the manager did give me some hint but without black n white, nothing is secure yet. Just have to wait patiently for their confirmation.

I'm sorry .it was on sunday and I don't remember the key word.

it was maybe a combination of schlumberger+hiring+ 2009

or something close.

it was just a random article that I come across by some europe news or something like that.

haha i too cannot find the article again.

if you google it, there's high chances that the website is saved in your browser history. Just press Control-H and look up on the websites you have been to on Sunday and you should be able to retrieve it.
But i do believe that the current economy situation doesnt really favour anyone atm. The corporation as a whole and also its employee.
