a simple google will do it..you can read the wikipedia for what slb has done in the past. you might be surprised how much an O&G company achieved.

QUOTE
The SEDCO drilling rig company and half of Dowell of North America were acquired in 1984, resulting in the creation of another well-known Schlumberger trademark, the Anadrill drilling segment, a combination of Dowell and The Analysts' drilling segments. Forex Neptune was merged with SEDCO to create the Sedco Forex Drilling Company the following year, when Schlumberger purchased Merlin and 50% of GECO.

from my experience, you will know the answer right after you finished the interview. usually they will give you some kind of hint whether you manage to secure the place or not. but for the formality, it usually take some time because they need to arrange the papers and legal documents. working in slb is one of many things and one of the most important is protecting the trade secret smile.gif

just like I said, just be patient and don't be too pushy for the guys. as azhanblur said, due to recession, there were some changes in the company. so it will be hard to say under the conditions but slb always hiring. at least you know you'll be in good hands in slb. make sure you read the wikipedia to know how much can you can get and achieve while working here.
