Hi guys. I am new here. Previously been invest about 20k in UT with the 5% sc and now get to know this great tool.

I was just curious what are the disadvantage of the FSM with lower sc as I know there are no free lunch in this world.

Is it they have limited available UT to buy or something?
*
There's no door-to-door service, you gotta print the form, fill it up yourself and send it to FSM by email or post. There's also no one that you can just call up and scream at if you lose money. It's like personal shopper or buy on website lor

But the biggest difference is, FSM doesn't distribute public mutual funds, so if you want to buy from public mutual, you have to pay hefty sales charge. So next question is, which fund is better lor... that, is up to you to determine

well you did get your money back with earnings rite? how much did you get and how much did she promise you? a fair statement is, if you can think you can do better than those fund managers, then you should go for it on your own.

personally i like control of my hard earned money. some people here feel they can do much better than those fund managers and rightly so. if your opinion is the same as us, welcome to the club!

Yea after 10 yrs i cash out and receive average 5% profit. It actually my Aunty sell to me and no promise. Then she quit and replace by someone I don't even know who it is besides the name. Now more investment savvy so I try to find best investment.

I don't control much as I'm looking for long term investment.

Yes, banks are full-service.. with banks you are paying for the services of a consultant. With FSM you are doing it yourself.

The consultant doesn't do shit except for printing the name on the statement.

1) that profit lost is the amount you place in from day 1 or to make it technical, the current price of your portfolio as to compared when you first invested each fund.

2)dividends are nothing so some of us do not stay in UT for it.

3) you should look at individual funds and their profits and finally the final column. let's say Manulife India netted you 10% but three your other funds are at - 3% each so your current portfolio profit is 1%
*
Long term is it good to invest UT of dividend if nothing?

Dividend is important if the fund can perform. If fund cannot perform, even with lots of dividend, it is useless.

and you cannot compare the body funds as TA Global invests in tech and eastspring is global. kinda comparing apples to oranges and saying which one is sweeter.

rclxms.gif , but to me it is still applicable to says "if the performance is almost similar ......go for the one with lower risk rating...."

if the apples or oranges can fill the stomach or thirst......go for the one that is cheaper or can buy with ease...

best if you read post #1 on the part of distribution (dividend) in the context of unit trust to avoid getting the wrong concept.

So fast. Year end is here. I thought I would tweak my main portfolio a bit.

I bought a few hundred bucks each into Eastspring Global Emerging Markets Fund, Eastspring Global Leaders, TA European Equity Fund and TA Global Technology Fund so that they would look nice in round figures.

I skimmed off the excess profits from CIMB Global Titans Fund (10.54%) and the CIMB Asia Pacific Dynamic (8.47%) and put it into the CIMB Australian Equity Fund.

Switched half of Libra Asnita Bond Fund into Affin Hwang Select Bond Fund. Sold off my RHB Asian Income Fund by switching it into the RHB Money Market Fund.

Yep, that should be all the transactions for this week except for the RSP on the 15th of each month.

I'm following FSM recommendation to overweight equity, start to move 10% from FI to EQ. Will be 60:40 EQ:FI ratio. Adding new fund RHB Asia Financials Fund recommended by FSM biggrin.gif

What's the difference between Ponzi 1.0 and 2.0 in terms of portfolio again?

Anyone still doing top up (not DCA) on Ponzi 1.0? I realised I haven't touch it since 2014. LOL!

Think it's Quantum with Select Asia Opp or something.

Anyone still top up Quantum?
