Looking to install a cctv at my condo doorstep. Bpught a Tapo C210. Is it good enough for this purpose? If it is not i can repurpose it for something else.

Been looking for cctv installer that can do one cctv installation, but most of them only do commercial projects. Does anyone here have any good cctv installer that you can recommend for home?

Viskou one of HIK distributor says all Ezviz wifi camera supported except for those battery models. So I guess if you buy the HIK NVR & Ezviz from them should be ok.

First you need to know how good is your wifi coverage where you will installed this camera, as a rule of thumb if your phone 2.4Ghz can get decent speed, then should be no issue. You can get those battery ip camera with optional solar panels. Not that I recommend this model but here is the link as an example! Solar Ezviz

And for those of you still using default/simple password for your HIK/Dahua quickly go update to latest firmware & changed to a more secured password.

Hi guys,

I am currently looking to install a CCTV at my condo foyer. Currently the area do not have wiring so I would need to get an electrician to pull the wire. There is a light point there I am wondering if it is possible to use the light point as the power source?

Looking for recommendation for CCTV as well.
1. The unit will be installed at my condo foyer. Not exposed to sunlight and rain
2. Would prefer continuous recording
3. Need to support motion detection
4. Intend to just use wireless connection

I saw most of the forumers here recommend Ezviz a lot. But there are many models. Appreciate some advice on the suitable model based on my needs above.

Thank you in advance guys!

U can use the light point as power source, always On the light switch, adding a wireless on/off module to control the light, tap the wireless camera to the light point.
Recommend u use Ezviz H8C-4MP with Color Night Vision, Auto Tracking, Active Strobe Light, AI Person Detection, price around RM245 without Memory Card, 256GB can store around 10 - 13days 24hrs footage. If u want longer recording, u can link the camera to recorder with Harddisk.

You meant to use a motion sensor to control the on/off of the light? That is a good idea too. An alternative would also be to pull wiring from nearby db I would assume?

Thanks for the recommendation. Really appreciate it. I have a 64GB SD card, that would amount to 3-4 days of recording I would assume?

Hey guys, was wondering if using a dashcam as CCTV is a good economic alternative? I'm just using it for indoors looking out eg. balcony with glass doors. Reason also is because I don't want to deal with the hassle of pulling wires, drilling etc. and setting up with a DVR/NVR.

Dashcam use hotspot for live stream, mean u need to connect to the dashcam hotspot wifi to stream the video, playback, etc.
But Dashcam still need power right? Need to connect to a 5V USB.. unless u use powerbank.
Maybe u can look for Solar Powered Battery CCTV Cam, example Ezviz, Reolink.

For Hikvision system, can you get a China origin (grey import) camera and use it with a local NVR (i version) and still be able to use all the features like colorVU, Accusense etc?

If u dont use their cloud p2p server Hik-connect, then no issue.
But if you want to use Acusense Notification, u hv to use their p2p server for snapshot picture storage and notification
