I'm moving in to my new condo soon.

Any good CCTV system to recommend? Are there any good wireless system so I don't have to run extra wires everywhere in the condo?

Can recommend any good CCTV supplier + installer?

Thanks

Is hard to avoid wiring, either power over Ethernet (Poe) or wifi still need powering cable, there are removable battery operated CCTV+wifi can last 180 days which one way or another you got to charging too

Nowadays Conventional with DVR+CCTV / wifi or poe

Or

User friendly brand like tapo , Xiaomi and etc brand, each device need their own memory card and control everything from your phone or some are compatible with DVR or mix match wifi+Poe tldr is CCTV nowadays very user friendly , and they have a proper guide for self installation without much drilling involved mostly hard 3m double sided tape 2 year later removing it can pull off your wall paint if the wall is painted

Quality and specifications not all build equally some are software enhanced some the device itself is capable without much software enhanced is needed

Last is viewing angle some specification build for wide angle some for pointing far then got 1080p/2k/4k sensor and lens type just please don't get the fish eye type annoying AF when playback preview and the other last is build for indoor or outdoor

So you can start from here and survey the brand you needed if the brand meet what you need

Hope its help

I used TP-LINK VIGI camera and their NVR POE Switch and installed the cameras myself. But mine one only outdoor, no indoor camera.

The image quality is good. I'm using 2 camera for now, the model i'm using is C540 for carporch and back yard is C340, both are 4MP and full color. The carporch one is with Pan tilt function can control from the VIGI app.

Planning to buy another 2 b4 CNY.

Did you compare the video quality with other brands? Because from the specifications I see online it's just a run of the mill standard 4Mp IP camera.

I not really compare with other brands, but did go through some review. So far the video quality is good either is day time or night time. Quite satisfy with the product.

Recently we are on a design stage of a intermediate single storey terrace house layout and we would like to install CCTV home surveillance system with at least 3/4 outdoor cameras at front car porch area and 2 outdoor cameras at the rear of the house.

For front car porch area, the 2 outdoor cameras are for outwards left and right coverage, then another 1 or 2 are for inside wooden door coverage. Might also add 1 each for front and back for a zoomed in shot for a clearer close up picture of certain area.

Monitor/TV I might install 1 at living/dining area and 1 at kitchen.

I actually plan to DIY it if possible by searching some guides online/ YT. I saw a senior here shared that better use POE instead of coaxial. My parents house is using coaxial on Hikvision system, I found that not convenient sometimes, and the connector tends to loose, need some adjustment to get it right. I believe CAT6 cable is easier and stable with only snap into the port right? biggrin.gif

Fellow friends here kindly share some thoughts and recommendation as well as the brand and system that I could get for my setup. I lean towards easy maintenance, user friendly, self upgrading, optional cloud storage capable.

We are in tight budget for the renovation, so we would like to calculate the overall cost. Of course we prefer not to cheap out on this because these days home surveillance is equally important.

Do let me know if any further info needed ya. Love you all, cheers. notworthy.gif

Yes but cannot view via P2P direct to ip camera. Through NVR P2P no issue.

Hi guys, planning to install hikvision cctv for my double storey home.
2 indoor 6 outdoor.

What's the recommended model to go for nowadays, in terms of best bang for the buck.
Is standard 2MP sufficient?

Go for at least 4MP.
