I've successfully unlock bootloader of RN3 officially after trying for 3 hours. There are 2 guides that help me the most.
In my scenario, based on my observation, the reasons that lead to 50% stuck is NOT due to xiaomi error per se, but it's due to PC not able to recognize "Android ADB Interface". Once the driver is installed, and the debugging bridge is able to link, unlock process just proceed smoothly.

I received the permission to unlock sms within 30 minutes!!! so fast.

- I skipped Step 3 & 8 & 9
- I disable "Verify apps over USB" in developer option
- still stuck at 50% after trying many times

- after successfully install the adb driver, within 10 seconds the phone is unlocked

Just give Guide 2 a try, it may save many of your time.

additional observation:
I noticed that when I connect RN3 to PC, the default is "USB for charging" and I don't see Redmi Note 3 in Windows Explorer.
I have to choose "Transfer Files (MTP)" to access RN3 storage (Windows Explorer show Redmi Note 3).

After I install the above adb driver, the Redmi note 3 is shown in Windows Explorer before before i click MTP.

I guess this maybe the root of the problem. When in fastboot mode, there is no option to enable the linkage between PC & phone. After adb driver is installed, the linkage is automatic as soon as USB cable is plugged in.

You guys have any problems with the camera in the new rom? Sometimes I will get the message that it is unable to connect to the camera when I open the app. Usually if I retry it will work but sometimes I need to restart the phone for it to work. I am hoping it is rom issue, not my phone

Guys, RMN3P supports LTE-A yeah? I am currently locked to 4G only not 4G+, how can I go about that? Speed hovers around 20Mbps only

Check your charger maybe fault.

Car charger & other chargers & cable all the same. Charge other phone no problem so confirmed is the phone!

Love this phone so much. With 499 I able to enjoy 7.1.1 with cm14 . Long lasting battery. Totally no worries for daily usage as battery always left 40 % in the evening.

Even use this phone as hotspot to share our internet with the rest.

I flashed the zip file from 8.0.5 to 8.1.0 official rom

My device is unlocked and rooted.

Now it doesn't load and even cannot enter recovery (cofface)

All it does is appear the mi wording for one second then turned off again.

I can only enter fast boot mode.

What can I do for now? Flash tgz to back to square?

I suppose flash rom using twrp (cofface) should not e a problem as I already did a factory reset. I just flash the latest zip and add super su to the que. Lastly, I swipe to disable stock recovery replacement.

Simple solution...power on your RN3 and leave the screen on. Drain the battery to 0%. This will probably take few hours. If you have app take drain the battery, use that too to accelerate the battery drain.

Once the battery is fully drained. Now re-plug, and it will charge back and normal again.

How come u got the permission that fast...i submitted yesterday morning till now no sms...what do you write on the reason to unlock...did you copy paste from somewhere..?
