Hi all, I'm currently interested in applying UOB One for my first credit card to earn some cash rebate for my petrol usage (around RM 300 monthly). Since this will be my first card, there are few questions I would like to ask:

1) From where should I apply this card?
i) UOB website
ii) Ringgitplus
iii) Agents at booths in some shopping malls etc
Is there any difference applying from Ringgitplus compared to UOB website? What are the benefits if I apply at the booths in shopping malls? Can I ask the agent to waive my AF straightaway?

2) When will they charge AF? And How to request it to be waived?
If I apply in this few days and I think I will get it by end of January next year. When will I be charged AF? End of 12 months from the date of my card registration?

I understand that there is a chance my AF will not be waived. But how do I try to ask them to help me waive it? Is it when AF is reflected in my statement, then I should call CS to ask them to waive it? Or should I do that before it is reflected in the statement?

3) When is the statement date? Can I change it?
I heard some cards has specific statement date like CIMB (28th). Does UOB has one?

Is it possible to change it? If yes, what is the best day you guys would suggest? Payday or end of every month (30th/31st)?

Sorry for all these newbie questions, hope you guys can help a newbie out blush.gif

1. apply from uob website, if other agents, they might use ur info for their marketing..
2. have to meet the requirement for waiver, or can appeal.. but no guarantee you will get.. depend on banks..

If you're in big cities then you might look for booths as they might have some freebies. Else you UOB website, they are quick and resourceful to respond to your application. 3rd party like Ringgitplus might confuse and ask you take other cards too.

Probably depends on the caller. Two times for other bank application cards, RP telling me that card is better... take that...

So, I can confirm 2 things:
a) Airbnb is entitled for CB. TS, pls add into 1st page.
b). Jompay is not entitled for CB. But it counts towards the RM800 min spend requirement.

I hate this too!
You can call CS to disable it.
The feature is in effect if you have more than one cards with UOB.

auto portion or auto apportionment or allocation ....meaning all your cards are linked under one ID, hence one payment will auto-apportion to all cards.

not sure what is the rules to perform auto-apportionment, e.g. oldest unpaid bill first? oldest unpaid card first? etc. there must be some rules controlling this.

imagine u have 2 uob cards (e.g. YOLO and One), then have few multiple outstanding bills for each card. if you make partial payment, how does the payment being allocated to which card since the partial payment cannot clear all outstanding bills smile.gif

or imagine you overpaid all your outstanding bills. which card holds the excess payment? laugh.gif

this feature is good if you always make full complete payment for all your cards, in one shot.
