Q & A

Q : The Lady card 10% grocery CB easy to get? Thought very hard to get coz based on certain $ pool only.
QUOTE(Tigerr @ Oct 19 2016, 04:43 PM)
tell u a trick. on 1st of each month. early morning go buy Tesco voucher, giant gift cards or aeon big gift cards. for solitaire card holders. straight buy rm800 vouchers one shot will qualify u rm80 cash back.
*
Q:hi, yolo cash back for each calender month is base on transaction date or posting date?
QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 28 2016, 10:51 PM)
4. Subject to Clause 12, Cash Back will be awarded for Online Spend and Dining Spend for each calendar month subject to a minimum Qualifying Spend of RM500 charged to the Card based on transaction date and captured by UOBM’s system for that respective calendar month.

5. Subject to Clause 11, the minimum Qualifying Spend is inclusive of the collective spend of both principal and supplementary Cardmember charged to the Card based on transaction date and captured by UOBM’s system for the respective calendar month. For the avoidance of doubt, only the Principal Cardmember is entitled to the Cash Back.

Q: Ways to maximize cash back
QUOTE(adele123 @ Dec 24 2016, 09:09 PM)
if you don't mind... to maximize cashback if you are worried you cannot hit the RM800 per month... can pay your unifi 3 months in one go... and celcom bill too... (just a suggestion)
*
Q: Hi guys, wanna ask, if I go oversea my credit card can use or need to ask them to enable the transaction first?
QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 4 2017, 10:22 PM)
Recommended. Unless you want your card to be temporarily suspended if banks can't reach you. It also will incur call roaming charges.
It depends how often you want to swipe in overseas, if one or two still OK. If more than that, not recommended. I always call before I go overseas. I have too many CCs and I selected few to call. I tried to open this permanently, banks said cannot as it's risky. I said I travel quite frequent, they said if I have confirmed travel plans, just let them know and they will activate according to my plan. sweat.gif I kena before two years ago in Tokyo as it was a last minute trip and I forgot to call Maybank. I missed their call after my third transaction, anyway called them back and they released my card. Fortunately for now, Maybank confirmed that their cardholders no longer need to call in for overseas transactions.

Suggestions

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Dec 24 2016, 07:12 PM)
whether YOLO is better option, it depends. as you wrote, your concern is hitting rm500 min monthly spending. add-on further, to hit the 6% cb tier with rm50 cb, need at least rm800.

reason is <rm800 spending, will get max cb of rm20. that's about max rm333 spending. the rest are wasted since you need min rm500 spending to start with.
for rm800 and above spending, max cb is rm50, that's about max rm833 spending.

you should read the t&c to fully understanding the card's qualifying spending criteria and cashback eligibility criteria >> http://www1.uob.com.my/assets/pdf/tnc/YoloCard-tnc-eng.pdf

seems there's no exclusion for insurance as qualifying spending, but definitely not eligible for cashback.

since vox gives you ZERO benefits, better restructure your spending to other cards, if any. hit back here >> https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3644347 to get recommendation

For?

Seriously, these kind of posts shouldn't be flooding on the first page in a post enabled section.

Anyway, TS you may consider putting in Preferred Plat card in the list though I still find it not a good card. laugh.gif

waiting for success list of YOLO end of this month.
I think I will need to swipe rm1 using VOX in Nov for monthly fee waiver since it will take time to have the YOLO arrive when apply.

I wanna apply this UOB Lady Card too and my colleague has one and she told me UOB refused to waive her AF. Eventually she has cancelled the card. ohmy.gif
Anyway, I still don't need it now because my office will be moving to Gardens only next year and that time I would like to utilize JG TnG reload if it is still then by then. tongue.gif

In my experience, easily waivable. Mine was the Solitaire, so AF RM636. I used it solely for TNg reload, so only RM400 per month. They still offered to waive. But better to apply only when you actually need it. Plus, the groceries cashback is not a standard feature... It is renewable every year. Although its likely to continue, always better to wait for TNC to be published just in cash it changes.

Yeah, I know it is a yearly thingy. I guess it is more feasible that I apply next year. biggrin.gif
