Hi, I would like to ask if 1k baht per day sufficient for one person for transportation plus meals? Without shopping.

Depends where you eat
Depends where yo go

For me sometime travel taxi and bts around bangkok, eat street food, no fancy restaurant. 1000 baht is enough for me.

the one behind Seacon Mall

I think that is the original one. And it is quite a distance from central Bangkok.

Do you think it is worth going there? I was only planing to go to the Talad Rod Fai 2 @ Ratchada.

Yes I understand. Someday you would spend more and other day you might spend less. Thank you very much for your feedback smile.gif

Do you mean the original Talad Rod Fai or Ratchada?
*
Yes more then enough 1k baht per day. A few plate of stir fried dishes and rices will need some sharing of total price. If you are on a budget and like to save on drinks during a meal, no need to open up a few bottle of coke/sprite in one go, share until finish before open another one.

If this is your first time
Quick tip. Ice water is free if they just give you empty cups with ice and straw, there will be a container somewhere. This is highly dependant on the stall/restaurant so please ask.

I had experience myself before, i ask for water in Thai and they point me to a container. Those that ask in English were given bottled water that u need to pay. Famous eatery place does not pull this sort of crap though.

I mean the talad rod fai in ratchada. It is just behind a mall.

Anywhere.

But for really serious water splash and really lots of people until you cant move, Khao San road.

If you have guys within your group, avoid Silom Soi 2 during the night to protect the guys from being groped by other men.

Anyone tried Khlong Saen Saep before? How was the experience? I heard it is another good way to check out Bangkok.

Mostly I only heard people raving about Chao Praya River Express Boat to experience BKK. But Khlong Saen Saep seems interesting though.

Yes I would like to save on drinks. Even in Malaysia, I rarely order other drinks apart from warm water. Plus I am not really into coke/cans drinks.

That is a very good tip bro. Thanks!

Hello people. This is the itinerary that I've come up with. Would appreciate some feedback to see if i arranged the tourist sites close together, and of course any extra food suggestions are highly appreciated too, especially if it's gooding Japanese ramen or ice-cream (apart from coconut ice cream) tongue.gif

Bro! How is Labuan treating you?!

Can't believe we both are going to BKK around the same time haha!! I will be going from 20th - 26th April!

Maybe you can add:

Ratchada Train Night Market
Erawan Shrine
Talad Neon Night Market at Pratunam Area

And perhaps dropping by Chinatown again but during night time for those awesome street food!

yes, increased
the moment i went last year, its already increased
its not even the same rate as advertised on chao phraya river express website
im not even sure the THB150 is the updated rate
but nevertheless, dnt take the daily pass...its not worthed
at least based on the price i paid last year, its not worthed
even if u take tourist boat(the most expensive one) the whole trip and alight at all the stop that u need to, its still below the day pass price

my advice it, pay each trip...dnt buy the day pass

chinatown street food only came alive at night, 6PM onward
u can actually squeeze chinatown before asiatique....asiatique opens until very late and so is their free boat

Yes bro. Chinatown has one of the best food in BKK.

I also recommend you do not buy the Chao Phraya tourist daily pass.

Just get on the Orange Boat which is a fixed rate boat. Each way costs you 18 Baht (does not matter how far). You would have to take 10 trips to make the daily pass worth it. If you plan your itinerary wisely, I do not think you will even take more than 5 trips.

But this Orange Boat is not as spacious and comfortable as the tourist boat. And there is no announcement.

But it should not be too hard to know which pier you are getting off and also you get to ride with the locals.

If money is not a problem then by all means buy the daily pass. Up to your preference.

The furthest you can take with tourist boat is only Phra Arthit pier.

If you want go all the way to the end which is Nonthaburi, you will have to switch to Orange boat. You still can take the orange boat using the tourist day pass.
