Songkran this year will be less happening though due to the passing away of their King. Many restrictions this time round, i.e no overly sexy clothes, whatever that means.

QUOTE(lawtm @ Apr 11 2017, 02:09 PM) none, my news indicate thai authority has been very hardworking at cleaning up the streets these few monthsalot of previously available food stall has been closed down those stalls are now trying to find loopholes to setup their stalls so if u want food stalls, better head to night market instead |

QUOTE(lawtm @ Apr 11 2017, 04:01 PM) oic. may I know which one more nicer between chatuchak market or stall at Yaowarat Road Chinatown???? Depends on what you want to eat, but i will suggest Yaowarat.Go on a weekday night after 9-10pm if your transportation permit. Use grab taxi or uber. Regular taxi need to depends on luck. Night market a good choice is tarad rod fai ratchada. Locals around the area/visitor from other changwat do go there, there is still locals amid sea of tourist. Street food stalls had closet/being asked to close down on a few place along Sukhumvit. Land owner/developer want to build something on their land and they want those stalls to clear out. Sadly this will be another beautiful part about Bangkok being disappear forever. |

QUOTE(lawtm @ Apr 11 2017, 07:51 PM) This is a tough one, but if i am not wrong from MRT you can get down at Hua Lamphong, Yaowarat is walking distance around i think 15-20 minutes to reach T&K Seafood ( using this as a rendezvous point ). Just a heads up I only walk this route 2 times in my life. It is very peaceful and nice if drive there very early on a Sunday morning. The morning market stocks a few selection of Malaysian biscuits/coffee/junk food. There is a chinese temple in Yaowarat that is quite famous cant remember the name but a Thai Chinese colleague swears by it.Traffic is total chaos right now around Hua Lamphong due to road works, so please be careful if you decide to walk. This way you can go early evening and enjoy the evening rush of Yaowarat while waiting for the stalls to open. Not recommended to go with luggage. At Hua Lamphong if u see motosai ( motorbike taxi ), ask about pricing of dropping you off at T&K Seafood. Should be around 20-40 baht not sure about the pricing of the local motosai service at Yaowarat, but prepare to pay abit more since you are a tourist. Confirm all pricing before getting on a motosai. They take up to 2 pillion rider, 3 if it is all very skinny women. |

Without shopping.Traffic is total chaos right now around Hua Lamphong due to road works, so please be careful if you decide to walk.
