Anyone of you tried using WIYO in japan how was the speed and coverage in osaka and tokyo?

nozawa onsen really need like 4d3n or minimum 3d2n. day trip not practical. and besides, skiing you need at least 1.5 full days otherwise not worth going.

Quick question....I'm getting the All Nikko Pass (4days). Does this pass includes ride on buses from Nikko Station to Lake Chuzenji? And how should I put the sequence...go to Kegon falls first or Lake Chuzenji? This two places is near to each other and walkable right?

Guys, would like to ask if one would need to call bank to enable atm cash withdrawal/debit card purchase when in Japan ?

I have question about the Nikko All area pass. Have anyone used it before? Usually how does it work? After purchasing the pass in their assigned outlets, do i still have to buy a train ticket? Or do i have to exchange it for a separate train ticket when i buy the pass in the same office?

These kinds of information is not very clear and i can't find any details in their official site.

Guys, going to Japan for 14 days, following a friend. I left it to him to plan everything. So it's 4 days Tokyo, 2 Hakone, 4 Kyoto, 1 Nara and 3 Osaka.

Question is, friend advised to buy 7 day JR Pass which I think is quite exorbitant considering that it will be mostly used to travel between these locations. In town travel using metro and busses will not be covered by JR Pass if I'm not mistaken. Is the JR Pass then worth to buy or I can save from buying at the ticketing counters itself?

Thanks guys, I thought of that too. The above is my friend's itinerary as he has been to Japan before. For me, it is my first time there, that's why I left all the planning to him.

I did a quick check using Hypedia on the train tickets. Even if we were to cover all these places, it would take up only about 10k+ yen or RM 400+. Bloody 7 day pass already RM 1100+. Of course this is only from city to city. I haven't included all the inter city transportation to those tourists destinations etc.

I have no idea what my friend has planned but knowing him since high school, it will mostly be museums, castles, parks etc. For me, I prefer city stuff like Akihabara, drinking and getting to know the locals at izakayas at Memory Lane and Golden Gai, or maybe go for some dirty shows at Kabukicho.

Yes I know all of the above although I've never been to Japan. Got do research one. Haha

oh, so if I wanna stick with train how should I plan my trip? My concern of not driving is because I think it's still covered in snow in March and I think it's a bit dangerous.

Do they now check the hand carry luggage weight at the boarding hall (right before boarding the plane) when you fly airasia?
I just heard some from someone, planning to fly to tokyo soon.

I was also told that some of these minshuku will not accept solo traveller - which is one of my major concern here when it comes to booking a place to stay in Shirakawa-Go.
