It's at this place called 肉屋の台所 宮益坂ミート(near Shibuya crossing). It's not cheap though, at around 11960 yen for two pax(4980 yen for wagyu beef course + 1000 yen for free flow of alcohol). But you get free flow of marbled wagyu beef... drool.gif

Thats pretty much normal although some places you can get 2990/pax or cheaper. BUt this shop comes with wagyu beef, so I think its worth it. You cannot compare it to RM as this is Japan.

Not sure, but I think it's worth trying at least once(unless you can find other similar restaurants at a cheaper price, then go ahead).. laugh.gif
Since I've been eating at those "vending machine restaurants" and McD in Japan during this whole trip, might as well splurge at least once.. innocent.gif

Hi All, need some help/advise.

Below is my plan/itinerary
14 Apr - Arrive KIX around 10PM. Go to osaka/namba area for accommodation.

15 Apr - 1st day in Osaka, Osaka Castle, Aquarium, etc.

16 Apr - 2nd Stay move to Kyoto, Arashiyama area.

17 Apr - Kyoto east side area, Fushimi Inari, Gion, etc.

18 Apr - Continue visit in Kyoto or leave for Osaka?

19 Apr - Continue in Osaka/Umeda/Dotombori/Namba

20 Apr - Early morning to KIX for return flight.

a) Should i opt for 3 days Osaka + 2 days Kyoto or the other way round?

b) As you can see, I am arriving late at night which will be a problem, should I stay near KIX and move to Kyoto next day? Or continue as my above itinerary.

c) Any advise/tips for arriving late night into KIX?

Much appreciated! Thx!  notworthy.gif

If you are in Japan, try Matsuzaka Beef instead. Its very difficult to find it outside of Japan and its consider an even higher grade than Kobe beef.

Suggest you book your accommodation asap coz the prices increasing and availability getting lesser due peak season.

I think your arrival 9pm still not too bad.

Interestingly enough, I once had a rib eye steak sampler with side by side portions of kobe beef, aussie grass fed beef and aussie 450-days grain fed beef. even though the kobe was by far the juiciest and fattiest, i actually thought it was too fatty, and preferred the aussie grain fer cow's beefier taste hmm.gif

Another random musing: Wagyu rib eys tend to be sold without the rib eye cap for some reason ...

Hi guys,

Me and my friends are going to Japan next month. We're planning to go

Kansai Airport (KIX) -> Kyoto -> Osaka -> Kansai Airport (KIX)

I've read that its best to get the ICOCA-Haruka set for cheaper ticket to Kyoto. So just to reconfirm if I understand it correctly.

http://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/ticket/icoca-haruka/

Based on the Site, it is 3,600YEN for the ICOCA-Haruka set, one way from Kansai-airport - Kyoto. Then I can also purchase another discounted one way ticket from Tennoji-Kansai-airport for 1,100YEN.

Also, if I were to purchase the Kansai-airport - Kyoto ticket. For that same price, I can drop off at either of the available 4 stations; Kyoto Station, Nijo Station, Uzumasa Station and Saga-Arashiyama Station?

Guys, would need your suggestion on where to visit as I will be heading to Hokkaido this coming February.

11-13 Feb - Otaru
14-16 Feb - Sapporo
17-20 Feb - Chitose

Possible to slot in Asahakiwa in one of these days, if yes, from which place is better ?

Thank you.

Better skip Chitose ..nothing tourist attraction there. Only shopping at Rera ,its the nearest to airport.

http://www.outlet-rera.com/

Better you go to Noboribetsu..Its history theme Park. Overnight at Noboribetsu ...you can go Ski park at Sun Laiva...very closed to Noboribetsu...if you traveling on winter .
