That price might as well just buy 2.8. that extra 5mm is not that much and the size is also not that much smaller

Hey Sifu, whether still worth to purchase em1 mk2 now? The price quoted to me is below rm4.8k in Penang.

Do you took these photo in Manual mode or Aperature/Shutter Priority thumbsup.gif

One of the happy Oly user who use it to complement my FF setup for general photograhpy (cant put FF camera in sling bag lol) wave.gif

I am very itchy on getting myself 75mm F1.8. to complement my 17mm and 45mm 1.8 geng too. So worry I will under under use it ohmy.gif Dont see oly do good deal/ Special deal on new 75mm F1.8 apart from the usual used camera dealer/garage sale. Not much used m43 stuff to begin with at good price.

Do you guys get your m43 kit new or used generally?

I shoot in Aperture priority, and recently just put the ISO to auto and shoot based on the aperture I want. As for my gears I usually get them first hand since there's so little of the m43 lenses being sold in the secondary market in Penang

The 75mm is a great sharp lens, but sits in my dry box 99% of the time cause it's too far for me to do anything indoors and way too tight for use in my streetshooting. If you do a lot of outdoor portraits with a lot of space then definitely go for it

Ah noted about the Ap priority. For me usually in tricky light i will go to the lowest shutter the camera/lens combo can take and play around with the ISO for my prefered exposure.

Hah this is quite true.... Usually one can easily get tons of used canon/nikons (my ff setup were all used gear) kit versus m43 where hard to find used unit.. Even the 17mm f1.8 i only pull the trigger when one of the dealer offered at extremely good price (cost slightly more than used copy) during mco time. I think 45mm 1.8 is one of the best value for money lens in m43 line up (not sure about the pana 1.7 as I used oly).

I sometime shoot with 45mm only and satisfied with the result (with some "manual zoom" lol laugh.gif ) Naturally I will tend to look next best prime which is 75mm... So far I did not do any external portraits as often as I want, so I will keep this KIV for now. Sometime with 45mm I just stand close to subject to get separation of subject and surrounding.

i have different habit...using Manual mode, set the ISO to auto, set the shutter speed to safety range depending on the environment, then only play with aperture.

But when come to moving subject that have tendency to move around i need to jack up the shutter speed to prevent motion blur.

I guess there is no right / wrong way on taking the photo as long foto end up good.

ya, that's the reason i was using manual mode, aperture priority can't do that fast.

Why not try the Oly 25mm f1.8? It's also about the same price and size as the 45mm. Or my favorite focal lengths with the PanaLeica 15mm f1.7 / Oly 17mm f1.8, can bring around for streetshooting

Actually i do have 17mm f1.8 that complement my 45mm. I skipped the 25mm as I find myself not using the lens as often as the other focal length based on my prior ff use. Had similar prime focal length for my full frame too.

Even my own FF 50mm lens was on "perpetual" loan to family member and he is happy shooting now laugh.gif
