One thing good about filter is that you can rub the dirty filter and you don't feel hurt.
*
I dont feel hurt... my 12-40mm i also use my cloth to rub it.... it is clean and shinny as ever. Who needs filter, those are created by the camera shop to sell u a piece no special purpose glass for RM100+-

Anyway, the layout of the menu button and the playback button really kinda need to get used to, keep pressing the menu button when want to check the playback.

I bought a replacement hood for 12-40 pro from JJC, cant say cheap but still way cheaper than absurdly priced Olympus one. The JJC one even have opening for filter ( presume for CPL adjustment )
*
the pro 12-40 not come with a nice hood meh? Why u still buy?

Anyone ever did self claim warranty from Olympus? I tried to contact Olympus via FB, but no answer just yet.
*
I been to their service center 2 years ago at Mont Kiara for my EM1 replacing the grip. U should try search for their phone number and call them. Faster respond. FB one is more like marketing team handling.

After looking around I end up buying the 25mm f1.8 Olympus... Now I notice they is no hood for it on sale in Malaysia at all for this lens. Not even Olympus official site sell it here. Any place where I can get hood for it do share with me.
