I think this ban on PayPal selling here is not the wise choice. Although we can withdraw, we can buy funds here cheaper than using credit card. Not all people can get the debit card anyway. There's always risk for online business and it's a major blow to hardcore sellers here. Now their business is cut off significantly.
*
Why would anyone want to sell paypal cheaper here now that you can withdraw directly into local bank without any charges?

Selling at cheaper rate means they are losing money.

The only reason it can be cheaper is to lure cheapskates into buying and then they reverse the fund. Or perhaps these people are doing something illegal that they cannot tie the paypal to their real details.

I can't find any solid reason but the one you mentioned. If your business is legal why worry about that?

U will need another card for that. PayPal only will allow you to have 2 accounts, 1 personal and 1 premier. If both premier you should consider changing it or delete it before PayPal acts on it. I am not sure if we can downgrade an account.

hi guys i know my problem is probably discussed in this topic before but it is too long to read.

im foreign student here in malaysia so i dont know about malaysia banks and cards. i already have a cimb saving account like all other students in our university. this account has an ATM card only.
my problem is: i want to use paypal(and regular online card payment) for buying and maybe later on selling things. what bank is best for this purpose and what type of card i should ask them to give me?
~thanks a lot~

If you don't opt to open an account with Maybank. You can try to read this article. It seems CIMB e.mastercard, debit card for cimb can be used to verify PayPal.

http://1-million-dollar.blogspot.com/2009/...nt-account.html

I knew someone on the forum used to verify PayPal using the debit card from cimb. Try PM Xeonbox about it.

I've read somewhere, the account you registered in one country, cannot be used in another country. I am not sure about it tho.

thanks for the reply smile.gif i dont mind opening a new account with another bank because it seems that cimb is not so paypal friendly. so maybank is the best bank if i want to use online debit/credit card payment or paypal? i remember people talk about public bank also.

if u got 2 personal account and one got limited...better dun add the same detail like same name, address, phone number, email becos it will link to previous limited account and maybe put yr new acc into trouble like getting limited or worst they will reverse and hold yr fund for half year. And i think there is no way to complain paypal at malaysia becos they can do anythg they like to yr money inside paypal acc.

I also got my paypal account access limited few months ago. The reason given is that "they detect unusual charges to my credit card", which is not true.

I called them few times but the stupid helpdesk keep telling me the same thing, "Paypal decided not to have me as their customers", the most ridiculous reply i've ever heard. I can't do anything though.

Right now im thinking if there is anything i can do the get my account limited access removed? Anyone has any stories to share? They just banned me like that and now i cant use anything related to me to register another account... sad.gif

(using my friend's account to trade right now...)

I got my account limited before. You really have to resolve everything and every proof they ask you to submit. Email them and show them you are indeed a genuine user.
I heard that after 180 days they will either lift the limited access or ban you for life.

While all this sounds amazing, the charge to withdraw is not apparently.

after you verify the account, mostly they will limit yr account soon or later to ask u send ID proof, address and etc even you got nothg wrong. That doesnt matter yet becoz they do this to get all your personal information.

But sometime even you send all the thg or proof, they still limit and put you into wait for 180days...For one of the my fren case, he just use his verified paypal account to purchase thg only from online and alrdy deal successfully with other ppl more than 50 times with no any dispute/claim against him before. But one time he make payment to one new ebay seller, then paypal limit his account and open cases to start investigation on him. This investigation even drag other no related and alrdy complete transactions which my fren deal with other seller before, and make these transaction suspended and cannot transfer to other seller even it is no related.

Paypal customer service just give him a simple reason "We have observed activity in this account that is unusual or potentially high risk" and they no even ask my fren to send anythg to them or do anythg, they just wait response from the seller. Ok that doesnt matter yet since they also state a deadline to solve this cases. But after the deadline and seller alrdy response in two weeks before the deadline, the account is in limited status. So my fren email them to push on them to solve the case quickly. Guess what he get? Fund of all transaction in the case been reverse back to his account and paypal made final decision to forcibly close his account and put in 180days limited status before close it...ofcos all the reversed fund inside his account need to wait for 180days then only available to withdraw.

In result other seller involved have to cancel the deal which fund reversed and my fren need to apologize to them for the payment delay and cancel. But surprisingly nothing happen on that new ebay seller which involved at the first time, he still can continue the sale. My fren had try direct call to cs in singapore and he also keep email back...but he just get the automated reply like copy and paste from cs. I guess he need to complain to higher position staff or regulatory agency then only will work...

Some online rumor say that one of the way of paypal to make money is to hold money inside account by limit their user account and they can generate the interest of hold money or put it in other use whistling.gif

OK something weird happened.

I'm debited twice before being credited back. But I was debited a third time after verifying. I'm scratching my head over the initial $1.00 charge as well.

Anyone mind to explain?

EDIT: It seems Paypal credited to my paypal account. So the third debit I think is contra-ed by that. But that initial $1.00? I wasn't told of that. Weird is that it says RM1.02 instead of using the exchange rate.

Same case goes to mine.. It is some kind of service charge by Maybank if i'm not mistaken... =D

And i wanna ask... I was using Maybank Debit Card.. So after i paid the USD1.95... How to i check the verifying code? I don't have statement mail to my house. I only can view my debit card transaction using M2U.
So will it show at the M2U transaction history? laugh.gif

Guys, I have an Ambank Nexg Prepaid Debit MasterCard.
However, I fail to link the card with my PayPal account.

Why?
Is it because it's a Prepaid Debit Card?

I just want my Paypal Account to be Verified. sad.gif

need help from anyone who has withdrawn money from paypal to bank account before.

question about the name policy.
is it we must enter the last name and name in paypal account according to our true last name and name, or we swap them so we can get the same name as on the bank account?

for example,
on bank acount, our name is Lee X Y
so for surname i enter Lee and for name i enter X Y?

i'm afraid the different name policy in the US may make the name become X Y Lee and i cannot withdraw the money.

pm me if possible. thanks.

Added on November 6, 2009, 1:41 amalso, if the answer is according to our true name, i have already entered X Y as my surname on paypal account, which i cannot change and Lee as name. anyone has experience with that before?
