I just called CIMB whether do they charge any fee if I withdraw my PayPal funds into my savings account.

They told me that there is no such service for savings account..I can only withdraw my funds to my credit card..zzzz

Waited few hours no use. Need to wait at least 1-2 weeks for the refund process. If you need any help can pm me =) cool.gif

I called PayPal..they asked me to wait for 24 hours..then only call back or e-mail if my balance is still not updated..

I called CIMB, they said the transaction is successful on their side..so either its RHB or FPX..

May its Sunday today..hopefully everything goes well..I can't wait for 1-2 weeks for them to refund..too f**king long d..

Just now i use cimb clicks for topup also haven't get any funds. It says 5days if the top up is not seen yet I can get a refund. But in your case maybe you can go direct to the bank and ask them refund on spot.
*
Whoa..luckily I din use CIMB clicks just now. This morning I went to create a RHB account just for PayPal..

Basic Savings Account Option I (No Bankcard annual fee)
16 free monthly transactions as follows :

6 free over-the-counter visits per month
8 free ATM Cash Withdrawals per month
1st 2 GIRO transactions at RM0.50 each thereafter at RM2.00 per transaction

Since I just wanna deposit money and transfer money to PayPal, this is the best option. Moreover no need pay annual bankcard fee biggrin.gif

Btw, one question. Usually you guys will get your balance updated or refund from bank?

CIMB told me that they will not refund since the transaction is successful on their side, so since PayPal did not receive the money, it is either stuck at RHB or FPX. I wonder whose fault is it..RHB or FPX -.-

Is this mean that if we have topup RM in paypal account,  we can't use it to buy anything in Internet that related to US dollar? (eg. steam games, ebay item,.......)
so the only point to topup is to buy item that listed in Ringgit Malaysia only?
Then if we accept ppl's paypal funds in RM, seem that RM not much use in paypal, so we have to withdraw it out after certain amount ?(No point putting RM in paypal account right?)
better use debit card direct purchase which will auto convert into US dollar right?

presa1200 I think you can try purchase game in steam or impulse. hope that it accept RM.
So far I only have US funds in paypal, so I dunno whether if RM in paypal can use or not.
Let me know that answer.
*
I did the same mistake for my first top-up. If you topped-up MYR, you cannot convert it to USD and can only use it for MYR transactions. Just withdraw to your bank account, its better if you withdraw more than RM400 so that there will be no charges.

If you wanna do online shopping, top-up USD..

How long it took before you got this reply?

I am facing the same problem. Sent off the email on Friday, got an automated reply only (nothing to do with the problem).
Monday, I sent another email seeing as I did not get any reply. Again I get an automated reply and thats it.

Till now no one contact me regarding my problem. Money gone, no funds in Paypal.

Do not rely on email too much..just call them, then they will send you an email..

You'll get faster replies if you call them

Ya, thats actually what I did last week when I realize the fund didn't enter my Paypal account.

Called them, and the person there send me an email that I need to reply with all the info and payment screenshot. Thats when I send the email to them, with all that info.

But until today still never get any reply from them doh.gif

Call your bank regarding this and also call PayPal again. I call PayPal everyday coz of this issue (yes, I have funds stuck too laugh.gif)

It should be instant, within 5 minutes after you top-up. Now you should call PayPal to solve this issue, no use waiting anymore

It takes forever. I'm having the same problem too with cimb. Heard that they would refund after 1 week
*
CIMB called me today and they told me they will not refund me since the transaction is successful on their side, unless RHB refunds them then only they will refund me sad.gif

QUOTE(Hornet @ May 25 2011, 08:55 PM)
I've had 2 successful transaction previously, they are almost instantly. By the time you close your FPX transaction window, refresh your paypal page, it should be there, if everything went well.

From my call to their support last week, I was told that I should wait 24 hours. But it certainly shouldn't take longer than that.

Guess you're like one of us facing the problem now sad.gif
*
Some will even ask you to wait for 2 days..crazy..

Yup..I've topped-up 4 times successfully eventhough the FPX page states that there is a transaction error..but this week is just bad..

lol. Yeah, I'll have to call them again tomorrow morning.
Really crappy top up feature.. Had successfully top up 2 times previously, so this time I trust it and top up RM 150 straight, and now its missing doh.gif
*
You can call them now, their support is 24 hours! laugh.gif

The money goes like this: CIMB/MAY/other banks -> FPX -> RHB -> PayPal
Since money is deducted from our banks and PayPal did not receive it..the problem should be with FPX or RHB.

PayPal keeps telling me that there is no specified time range when we will get our balance/refund because it all depends how efficient is RHB in detecting our missing funds. My guess is, RHB screwed up..

don't topup it's safer use credit/debit card trust me , rm20 is floating on paypal acc,
guys i end up paid full amount with my nexg  ,
for info you can use nexg buy online secure by paypal but you cannot withdraw or topup using nexg
*
Its safer to use credit card, but if you're doing overseas transaction, you'll have to pay very expensive PayPal fee. I did a transaction once of RM1k++ and PayPal charged me RM40 fee!!

My solution is..if you're a frequent PayPal user, just get a RHB account laugh.gif

RHB -> PayPal direct

I think it's the FPX problem. I call up cimb just now, they told me to wait 24 hours and if not yet receive only call them again.

For the RM40 service charge by Paypal you can avoid by choosing personal payment or Mass payment. Mass payment just take 1USD no matter how much you transfer. I always use mass payment in paypal.
*
I always choose Personal Payment. According to them, if you use credit card to perform personal payments, they will charge 3.4% + RM2.00 MYR

If Cross-Border Personal Transactions, its 3.9% + Fixed Fee.

How to perform Mass Payment?

If I wanna transfer USD1000,

Using Credit Card, USD1000 + USD 39.30 (fee) = USD1039.30 = RM 3180.26 (current exchange rate)

Using top-up, USD1000 + USD 3 (fee) = USD 1003 = RM3121.34
(last exchange rate I checked for top-up today was USD1 = RM3.112)

Using top-up is cheaper. Moreover, since exchange rate changes often, you have no idea what the exchange rate will be when the credit card company bills you because they do not use the exchange rate when the transaction is done but use the exchange rate when they receive the bill.

I'll try to look up for Mass Payment. Thanks! smile.gif

Yea..only PayPal can help..and PayPal needs to wait for RHB's response.

I've called RHB before and they claimed that only RHB customers can only use to PayPal top-up service from bank accounts. I told them that I topped-up from CIMB and it will go through RHB, which is why the RM2 fee is needed and they denied having such service..wtf =.=

I topped-up using RHB today and damn..it was fast and hassle free!! biggrin.gif

all of us having this issue?
is it frequently happen?

***t, will never use the topup feature again.  vmad.gif
i will open RHB account instead.
*
I recommend this plan: http://www.rhb.com.my/deposits/savings-acc...basic_main.html (Option I)

Why I choose this option?
There is no bankcard annual fee..but limited ATM cash withdrawals. I do not need to withdraw, but I need to deposit cash into RHB account to be transferred to PayPal. So basically, opening this account is free!!

What's the catch?
RHB no longer provide ATM cards, which is needed for this plan. You will need to contact their branch first and ask them if they have stock for ATM card and whether are they able to open this account for you. I went to a branch near my house and they no longer have ATM card, just debit cards. In the end, I had to travel to other branch, but it was worthy biggrin.gif

After you open a new account, you will need to wait for 2 days for the system to update your new account information to RHB KL HQ. Then, you'll need to call them to register your handphone number for OTP (TAC) used for online transaction. After they register your handphone number, you'll need to wait 12-24 hours before you can receive the OTP (TAC) SMS.

So basically, after you open your new RHB account, it will be useless for 3 days coz you cannot do any online transaction..unlike CIMB/Maybank where you just update your handphone number via ATM machine..

Btw, transferring funds from RHB to PayPal is direct..since there will be no FPX transaction ID issued. I've asked RHB staff before and she said so far RHB customers do not complain about the PayPal top-up feature..

who usually pay d fees? me or the receiver?

sum update...i bought another extra usd14 in order to pay the fees...n so when i transfer the money which is 349 usd again...the fees bcum 3.49usd instead of 13.91usd....i was WTF???
*
Your fee should just be around USD 1 if using paypal balance..

If I use credit card to transfer funds of USD349 to overseas account..the fee is USD 13.91. I do not think it is a coincidence that the fee is the same as your fee..double check with your friend whether he/she really used paypal balance or credit card..

Hi guys!

I tried my luck calling RHB, they said that they will now entertain non-RHB customers who topped-up but did not receive funds from PayPal. Just give them all the necessary details especially the FPX transaction ID.

I'm not sure whether is it helpful, but at least RHB is doing something now biggrin.gif

Oh ya..btw I forgot to inform you guys one thing..

I called PayPal every few days to request for any updates and guess what? PayPal gave me free USD10 top-up to my PayPal account! They say that this is a token to show that they are really sorry for their delay for tracing my funds..although its actually RHB's fault and not PayPal..

So..get your USD10 now!! laugh.gif

New update from PayPal regarding my issue..

I actually called them up to inform them that the amount deducted from my CIMB account is inclusive of the RM2 fee. So they double-checked the amount that was in my report, I actually topped-up around RM2.7k, but in the report it was RM27k ===...===

Now I know why it took so long just to find out where my funds are..
