just want to ask regarding payment on ebay. will there be a difference assuming i pay usd1 via credit card or paypal? perhaps the exchange rate is higher on paypal than credit card?

*i just bought something usd 0.99 on ebay via paypal. i got charged rm4.55. the exchange rate this morning was about 4.45 this morning when i made the purchase.

My Account -> Profile -> My Money -> My preapproved payments -> Update -> See Available Funding Sources (or Set Available Funding Sources) -> Conversion Options (for card you'd like to change this option)-> Bill me in the currency listed on the seller's invoice -> Submit

Paypal currency exchange seems to normally higher than current ones.

thanks buddy! paypal's exchange rate is way higher than the banks'. i bought something usd 0.75 via paypal. if converted by paypal it was rm3.45 whereas if converted via bank it's rm3.28 only.

May I know which bank card that you link to your paypal?
Do you get notified instantly for your purchase in RM?
For cimb mastercard that I'm using, it usually takes 2-3 days to appear in my cc transaction list.

same as you.  it doesn't show on the transaction, but it deducts from your credit limit in real time. so just did a simple math before and after.

Recently I get scammed from a buyer on Paypal which he file dispute to claim back the money, and he won it, now my Paypal account having negative amount of total USD 98.

Would like to ask if I decided to ignore it, can Paypal take legal action against me such as law enforcement or debt collection in Malaysia?

More details below.

- Been using Paypal near 8 years, clean and all good transaction.
- First loss in Paypal by dispute from this buyer.
- Paypal have my Bank Account.
- Paypal have my Credit Card.

P/S : Since Paypal have my Bank Account and Credit Card, would they automatically charge it from my Bank Account or Credit Card to refund the negative balance if I don't pay it?

Bought something recently for 122.39 usd ~ rm540 (when 1usd = 4.40).
But the transaction is listed as Rm552, so there's another rm12 thrown in there
