I have done some study on fertigation system and bought a mini set installed behind my yard. Result was pretty good, harvested nice rock melon's; however it is not as sweet as expected. I am still trying, hopefully my second round will be more sweet. Some photos for sharing...

Hi guys,

been thinking to venture into cocoa plantation.

any of you guys have experience or thoughts to share?

my only concern so far is hiring labour and finding buyers. so far, the production of cocoa in malaysia has been dropping, was wondering if it's due to the plant fragility or labor intensive?

can advise?

Well, first you might not want to directly jump into plantation...
plant on a small scale first.... i've jumped into many many fruits/plants etc before and at the end of the day, i went back to my first and basic darling banana planting...

it's not about price good or not as price depends on supply & demand... all commercial commodities are facing price drop and it is a good idea to start planting..

what ever it is, plant small scale so that you can learn the tricks and trade so to prepare yourself for bigger challenges... biggrin.gif

What do you like to eat most (fruits and vege) ... choose one and concentrate on it...

Do remember, whatever can go into human mouth, then it is a good business.. even tobacco... lol

There are some issues so far on all the districts we went, like pollution, otters (actually not really a problem, unless they come in a big group).

1)How do you guys market your chili products in Klang Valley? Are you guys mostly supplying to local market e.g NSK, Tesco & etc or is there any middleman trader?

2) Is the demand rather secure if you are able to supply in significant quantity?

*sorry had to ask such questions, I am totally new to this and have just started plantation @ home. Planning to loan for a piece of agri land for agriculture as side income. It will also serve as investment purpose if the venture does not work well.

Am contemplating working for an aquaculture company in Malaysia. Anyone in the aquaculture industry here?

The company I'm aiming for is doing mariculture (open sea cages)
