so far so good, i'd like to say 100%, however prolonged activities past 10-15 minutes without back/head support (like me just sitting in front of my pc with high back support to cover all the way to my head or simply just lying down) will definitely have pain set in on the shoulders/upper back and i'll look distressed with all the heavy sweating etc.
to be honest though it isn't as bad as it looks but i guess most people (that know of my situation) are just concerned.

Biggest bummer is still unable to return to work due to company/hr policies, and i'll have to deal with unpaid leave. (hospitalisation leave is only valid before discharge, then mc then AL then it'll be unpaid)
mainly due to the docs giving me MC till 29 August, and even with an additional note that i requested from the hospital to explicitly mention that i am OK for office work, the company still prefer i'd stay at home with the given mc period

Guys, what things you need to invest when riding new sportbike? ( R25 -Z250 etc )

check:
Rider
1. Helmet
2. Riding jacket
3. gloves

Motorcycle
1. lock... what type of lock? last time guna lock solex je
2. Slider ( very important right? )

any lock that cant be broken

slider, some say it can make your bike flip if it caught something while sliding. Can cause bent frame as well. And also some got their sliders stuck in the thread coz the bolt bent inside, have to drill them out. But if dont use, your fairing sure kena.

I personally dont use any slider cause im scared of getting my frame bent or crack or something. I'd rather have my fairings break

When buying overseas, as you put into cart and select shipping location, it will be removed from their tax.

When arrived here, it is ranging from 6% - 31% max.

Usually below RM500, they will let go and less kacau. Once kacau, you gotta head to KLIA to clear the items. Negotiation starts there

Jacket with chest, spine, shoulder, elbow protection
Base layer (get from Decathon)
Balaclava
Pants like Jeans with kevlar / paddings
Shoes with toe & ankle protection

customs = luck.
anything over rm500 (including postage btw, so if your postage rm100 item 400, still taxable)

6% + whatever sales tax/excise duty that the item is categorized for.
last time automotive is 30% excise + 10% sales, so now is 30% + 6% instead.

if can order use local lo, so long they aren't charging like crazy.

any orders from US minimal also 20+ usd.
bigger (volumetric calculation, worse)/heavier items can go much higher

so far ive never been taxed before, even when it costs more than 500. My friends also never got taxed when buying racing suit from overseas

like i said, luck.

you can import rm1000000000 worth of item. if you lucky, no tax.
you import LESS than rm500, if you unlucky, customs die die want to tax you, they just go with minimum tax amount (eg: 6% gst) and you'll kena tax no matter what.

what to do. everything went wrong yesterday.

if you know where to look, you can get such suits for less than 2k. Like PUMA's once was sold for 1.3k last year, Alpinestar Motegi were sold for 1.8k. Both last year's prices.

Guys do you have any recommended driving schools around shah alam or pj area? I'm going to metro now but they overbook the sessions and they only have 2 bikes. Imagine like 10 people using 2 bikes only. I can't properly learn there since I have very limited time using the bike and I don't want to buy my own bike to practice on my own since I am aiming for a vulcan s.

which branch? last time i went to metro as well.

weekend classes hv to queue to use the bikes.

The one at kampung subang. I can still stand if it was 4 or 5 people but 10 just ruffles my jimmies.

my experience taking b full license.

went for the lessons 4 times, the 5th times is the jpj test. if you got time, you can complete 3 lessons in a week. I took 4 weeks to complete (1 lesson per week).

the jpj test was a joke..from 0-10 of difficulty level, i'd rate it at 0.5. They don't bother to check all the steps i've memorised..once the bridge crossing is finished you basically got your license dy (i don't think the cones, 8 figure, and sharp corners pose any threat)

good luck in spending 1k for that piece of plastic card

my tips. go there early. 8.30-8.45am you can ride already..i'm always the first one to ride the bike everytime i went there. pusing the circuit for 3-4 times (10-15 min) and i ask the tutor to sign my card and I'm heading home while all the other students are queuing for their turn.

well that depends on the jpj officer. mine last time were quite rigid and strict as well. every steps count.

got few candidates fail bridge, they simply told to get off the bike, go home & see u next week.

Try another one near the Amcorp mall. NEar JAya LRT station.

I need recommendations for rain gear; got a ride to Thailand this weekend. Looking for a basic suit (jacket and pants) that's packable into a small space. What rain gear do you guys normally use? I've seen some RM100 'Arai' (and other brands - probably fake) rain jacket and pants sets from Mudah but not sure if those will last. Are waterproof glove and boot covers worthwhile as well?

For your trip, just get any rain gear that fits ( best get one size larger so that can go over your riding gear ). It will flap but you cant go fast anyway in the rain.
Gloves and boot covers are optional. Gloves I take off before it rains. Boots I will transform to slippers. These two I try not to get them wet as its so hard to dry, especially if your trip is non stop ride. If there is a break then can dry with air con.....yeeaaahhhhh.....dont forget to bring deodarant. Sometimes drying things can be smelly...LOL...have fun for your ride.. stay safe....

Thanks for the good tips If I have space I might bring my old motocross gloves too, to wear in the rain. They're fabric so quick-drying, plus I've been riding with gloves for so long now that not wearing gloves feel weird lol. See if I got space for slippers too. Yeah riding in wet boots is *not* fun haha.

Won't be able to get it in time for the trip but I'm now thinking of getting one of these RS Taichi hoodies. Waterproof and has armor, looks like a nice easy commuting jacket, especially since it's starting to rain every day in Penang now.

Yup, backpack. Not much storage options on sportbikes and bikes of similar style nowadays. A waterproof backpack is one of the best things you can invest in IMO. You can also try a tank bag which sits on the fuel tank.

I kinda miss the older sportbikes with big butts at least they had a bit more onboard storage space. I've heard claims that the Hayabusa's huge rear hump is big enough to fit a six-pack of beer lol.

u need a slightly a bigger backpack..waterproof or hardshell is a bonus.

get those cheapo arai or watever rainsuit from kapchai shops... they may be cheap.. but they can last. i know some people use them as riding jackets daily and still last a long time. as mentioned, get 1 size up or 2 so u can wear it over ur gear. just go to shop and test while wearing ur gear.

perhaps get waterproof riding boots? better safety than slipper.... i have the replica a-stars one though... been holding up well in the rain when paired with my cheapo rm69 X-Dot rain suit. even used it for a tonne of walking when i was in UK and still OK. definitely not as comfy as sneakers, but u get used to it. ridden in the rain before without any rainsuit, boots were still relatively dry since my pants covered the top of the boot.

for gloves, cheapo gloves for the rain.. doesnt need to be waterproof.. as long as ur hands are still covered... so that it doesnt hurt like a son of a beech during the ride. if u want cheapo waterproof, go to bike shops and buy them RM100 "leather" gloves. my neighbour has the soft gauntlet length "leather" glove (branded RS TAichi) and its waterproof. looks good and friggin comfy too.


for storage, backpacks, tank bang, tail bag, removable saddle bag. all can be had for cheap for replicas. comes with rain cover too so no need to worry about rain so much.


EDIT: by "bike shops" i mean those normal bike shops that sells kapchais...if they also sell bigger bikes then better chances of finding the items. doesnt have to be specialized bike accesory shops.

btw...hows the haze in penang? thinking of heading there in 2 weeks.

Thanks for the info I'll check out some bike shops on the way home from work later. Your replica A-Stars, are they like that company's SMX boots or similar? I would have gone for the Fieldsheer boots but currently looking for a pair with more protection in addition to waterproofing.

No haze in Penang since last week but we're getting a lot of frequent rain, including a few really heavy showers. Make sure you pack your good rain gear!

yeah my boots is one of the SMX.. but im not sure which one.

personally my experience in wet, long distance between KL/Johor, coincidentally BOTH trips also rained, i just ride with my existing gear.

my saving grace was the hotel room air cond that amazingly dried my leather gear quite well for the next day track day (which rained also duh lol)

my supertech r boots isn't vented, so it actually resist water/rain quite well, not to mention it is high cut so water can't easily get in from the top.
but yes if you're going to wear the boots whole day (which i did on few occasion) it can get very stuffy/hot. still not really sore since it is among the most comfortable racing boots one can get hehe.

jacket/gloves will be badly soaked, can't be helped. however my komine jacket being half mesh, while it soaks quite badly, it dries decently easy as well with the wind helping out during highway speeds.
gloves/pants being vented/perforated, also dries similarly easy albeit prior that you will be having wrinkled fingers from the soaking

perhaps use something non scented like charcoal/carbon instead, as the scented deodorant can actually cause worse smell depending on how it reacted with the bacteria/existing smell.

all in my R25 (lol) backpack.
can fit just about anything with 25 liters huge single ish compartment.

i mostly look in mudah , only found 2 shop ok ok only. but they are not honest about the insuran.

they quote me rm1500 for insuran, and im comparing it with Truimph street triple R insure sum of rm55k with only rm1230++.

Maybe the shops are right. Insurance got many factors and rules. Most common is single rider and all rider. Got quite a difference with price.
Age can also be a factor. You know lah how insurance companies work. Meet the shop face to face and see what they can give.
