Upgrade the GPU to RX470 4GB or GTX1060 3GB, both are priced below 1k now or top up RM 100+ for GTX1060 6GB (more worth).

Add a 120GB/240GB SSD when you have more money later to improve overall system responsiveness and shorten the boot time.

You mean the PCIe slot? Don't worry it is very durable biggrin.gif

The real cause is the card, either too heavy or too long and causing slight "bending" or "flex", it should be ok because the PSU shroud of this chassis is very close to the GPU which can act as a "support" to the card.

GTX960 2GB price now is around RM 850 (more or less), SLI doesn't provide 100% perfect GPU scaling so you might end up getting extra 50% boost only (this is different for each games). Another issue is the VRAM, 2GB is barely enough for any games now even in 1080p, do remember VRAM will stay the same even in a SLI setup unless the games you play support VRAM stacking in DX12 (none available currently).

GTX1060 3GB is just slightly above RM 900 now, which provides twice the performance of your current GTX960. By going for this path, you don't have to worry about the performance of SLI, or whether the games support SLI or not, the only thing you need to worry is the VRAM.

Higher end single card is always on top of the "buying" priority when you compare it with weaker cards in SLI. Real life example, RX480 on CF vs GTX1080, AMD claimed that RX480 on CF can beat GTX1080, yes this is true, but not entirely true though, it is true if only raw performance is involved and with perfect scaling, but how many games out there have perfect or near perfect scaling? Only few titles, like AC: Unity and Crysis 3 sweat.gif

It is cheaper to get RX480 CF (RM 1300 x 2 = RM 2600) compared to GTX1080 (RM 3000), but the power consumption will be much higher, 300W vs 225W (just a raw peak estimation, not reflecting to real life power draw). I am not going to mention the requirements on mobo and PSU since you already have them.

My suggestion is sell off your GTX960 (probably can get back RM 500+) and get GTX1060 6GB/RX480 8GB.

First time builder here and may i ask if these parts are fully compatible with each other

MOBO : Gigabyte H170N Wifi
CPU: Intel Core i3-6100
GPU: Gigabyte GTX1060 Mini 3G
RAM: Corsair value ram 2133 8gb x1
PSU: Seasonic s12ii 620w

1. I've done my research where ram is supported by the mobo, the question is will it support the ddr5 that is in the gtx1060? and since the mobo supports PCI-E 3.0 x 16, it should work right?
2. Since entho supports full size psu with 212mm clearance, 140mm on the seasonic should fit right?

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1289
ASRock H110M-ITX - RM 315
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 312
Palit GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 StormX OC - RM 488
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 209
Corsair VS450 - RM 162
CM Elite 110 - RM 159

Total: RM 2934 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

The dedicated GPU included is only useful if you enable GPU acceleration in Premier Pro, you can remove it if video editing is not the main priority, SSD addition will boost the speed of the rig in terms of overall system responsiveness and shorter boot time.

If you need the rig to be even smaller, you can consider other chassis like RVZ02/01 (console alike).

Not recommended to pair i3 with GTX1060, some (not all) CPU demanding games will show bottleneck (GPU can't fully unleash its power due to slow CPU).

1. It will work.

2. Yes.

PCIe is backwards compatible, what you get from 3.0 is more bandwidth, 3.0 card will work fine in 2.0 slot (or 1.0) but with restricted speed, but it should be fine since both cards aren't super high end cards which require that high amount of bandwidth yet.

If you have 2k budget, I suggest you to find used i7 3770 (around RM 750+/-) and get a new GTX1060 6GB instead, not worth to invest in a new 2k rig, the performance gain compared to the upgrade of your existing rig is low/poor (or even at negative side, which you gain nothing but lose even more).

Thanks for the advise, like that i will stick to your previous suggest getting the new GPU and later SSD.

1 more thing, the brand does matter right (for example 1060 i saw got msi, asus, palit, zotac etc)

i might try get the gtx1060 6gb if able to as what you suggest. biggrin.gif

Brand doesn't really matter, for example, if you are getting GTX1060 6GB, it will still be the similar chipset even you get another brand, the differences are just the cooler design (including card design), clock speed which can be adjusted manually as well since it is not locked by manufacturers and warranty (after sales services).

If you are on a limited/tight budget, just get the cheapest variant available, the extra RM 100 (or more) is not worth to spend/invest in return for few extra FPS/lower temperature nod.gif

If same price, then R241Y is a no brainer choice, IPS vs VA biggrin.gif

Palit GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 StormX OC - RM 488

Total: RM 3508 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Since you mentioned triple A titles, if your cousin really wants to run them at high settings, can consider getting GTX1060/RX470/RX480.
