okay then. oh, 1 more thing.

seagate barracuda 1tb or wd blue 1tb? which is better? some ppl said all based on luck. some hate sg, some hate wd.  hmm.gif

WD seems to have released 5400 RPM version of WD Blue 1TB which is marginally slower than 7200 RPM HDD, avoid it at all cost if you don't want to have a turtle drive, 7200 RPM WD Blue 1TB is fine.

If you are comparing both drive at similar speed (7200 RPM) then either one is fine to me, they are equally famous and I will pick the one which is cheaper and yes, hopefully your luck ain't bad at all, some can last for many years but some only able to last for few months sweat.gif

It's not that new, WD released the 1TB 5.4k rpm version months ago supposedly, when I tried to add another WD 1TB to my pc (around December). I see people buying since October - November.
The differences can be noticed easily, which is the code: 7.2k ends with EZEX while 5.4k ends with EZRZ.

Well, WD haven't updated their website yet for months already I suppose? Still stating 7200 RPM is the only version for 1TB laugh.gif

EZEX is WD Blue's codename while WD Green's codename (rebranded to WD Blue 5400 RPM) is EZRZ previously.

i5 is highly recommended, you will see CPU bottleneck in some games if you insist to use the i3 with the RX480 which restricts the GPU from performing normally (as in full potential).
*
What if i were to change the cpu to the red side. Maybe pairing a FX 6300 or the FX 4350 with the Asrock N68C-GS4 AM3+ Socket? Would that be better?

Current i3 destroys FX-6350. I suggest waiting for AMD Ryzen if you wanna go red. At least their performance per clock significantly increased. May take some time for budget versions though.

The pricing difference between Sapphire RX480 4GB and Zotac GTX1060 3GB is quite big, almost RM 150+, RX470 4GB is a much closer rival (in terms of pricing).

Thanks for the build guys. Apparently he does not have a monitor. What would you guys recommend? 24" or 27"? Even if get new monitor, still required to do colour calibration?

i'm planning to build a power efficient rig but with moderate gaming capabilities. im a casual gamer playing tf1, bf, cod, gta occasionally, with 70% of time spent on gaming, the rest, are more towards productivity thingy. as for graphic quality, i target to get at least above 40fps with medium high-ultra settings, on 1080 resolution..budget is max rm1500 with cpu, gpu, ram, mobo..

below is the hw im thinking of
CPU: Intel Core i3-6100
GPU: MSI nVidia Gtx 970
RAM: Generic 8GB DDR4
Mobo: Asus with H110 chipset
PSU: EVGA 450B Bronze 80+
Casing, keyboard, mouse, monitor all use existing one.

What do you guys think? Good enough to be relevant for at least 4 years? For above rig, i believe can get below the budget specified.

OR...should i wait for zen to come out? i heard rumors saying it is more power efficient than intel?

I have quite a poor experience with nvidia drivers. The only reason im considering the 1060 is because of its price. Just would like tio confirm, the H110M-K can support kaby lake processors after a bios update, am i right?

Though, I'm really trying to cut costs here and there. Just wanna get the cheapest quadcore intel. Is the extra rm70 really worth it? (Mostly, in terms of gaming performance of course)
