Hi guys,

I'm back from oversea to KLIA next week early morning. Here's the guide for arrival PPL that I read from the comments

-Don't leave the international Transit Area
-Take the Aerotrain to the Satellite building to use the PPL/Flight Club

I have a few questions
1. If I'm staying in PPL for an hour or two, will my luggage stay around the belt or placed into lost & found?
2. Can I travel to KILA2 & enjoy the landside lounge?
*
Normally on arrival home, people just want to get home as soon as possible.....

But if you want to use the ppl, your bags will either be left on the carousel or at the side.....take a note of which carousel as the information will have disappeared from the screen by then....

Or you can collect your bags and go over to KLIA2 to use the landside lounges.....they accept arriving boarding passes.....or used to.....not sure if the recent changes by some banks have affected that...,

How about this scenario.

1. You arrive from overseas.
2. You have to collect your luggage.
3. Go to connecting flight check-in counter but counter wouldn't be open for another 6 hours and you don't want to drag your luggage around.
4. So may as well stay on airside to kill time.

Happen more often than you realize.

Then it's not "arriving home" per se, but on transit....and if I need an overnight transit at KLIA, I will make sure I am able to check through my bags, so I don't have to worry about them....and then just spend the night somewhere.....have done this multiple times in Changi.....and either spend time in ppl.....or book a 6hrs block at a transit hotel.....

For KLIA, I would usually book a night at tune hotel if it's more than 9hrs overnight.... otherwise just stay in the ppl.....

like I said, there are times one would want to spend/kill time on airside PPL and yet have to worry about luggage on carousel.

They generally do....just that the new rules by ambank and rhb states "international departure".....so no domestic departure.....and maybe no international arrivals....lol

The banks have not been able to get the lounges to implement the guidelines, hence decided to either remove the landside lounges (ambank) or restrict to international flights (rhb) forcing the lounges to check the boarding pass to verify destination....

For the other banks, you can continue to "abuse" the system with just your IC....

Actually, most other banks have restricted number of entries, so they have factored in the cost which is finite in their operations....others have even before, limited use to airside, and/or international travels....

The main card being abused was ambank....free for life, unlimited use in all listed lounges....so people enter/eat at gateway or tgm without travelling.....and bring their friends too....

That's why we cannot have nice things in msia... They get abused.....

Only applicable for Preferred Banking customer.
They need something to maintain / attract customer into preferred banking business.
I foresee more preferred / priority banking CC with better benefits coming soon.

Till now, at least 2 banks have revised their lounge access T&C, and only applicable for preferred / priority customer (for 2019).
1) AMB - allowing Penang International PPL
2) CIMB - unlimited entry

Yes thats true.

BTW, RHB Premier VI also offers unlimited lounge entry (if spending more than RM 100k per year), else, complimentary free 10x entry for spending less than RM100k per year rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif

P/s: I confirmed with RHB customer service, as well as my RHB Premier Relationship officer that for RHB Premier VI, both principle and supplementary card holders are entitled for separate complimentary access to lounge, which is clearly explained in their T&C.

For a lot of people, the unlimited entries is no use, as it only applies to international travels....so unless you do a lot of international travels, may not even exhaust the 10 entries....

International arrivals are separated from departure, so no access to airside lounges....only landside accessible after you clear immigration....you also have the option of passing into domestic side without exiting the airside....

Hi all,

If I earn an income of around 108k/pa, and the nature of my job requires me to travel frequently (domestic and internationally), which card would you recommend for lounge access? Preferably those with at least first year annual fee waived or can be waived with conditions. Are there any cards that can be used in overseas lounge too?

I read about SC Worldmiles MC, my choice so far but only international departures and only in Malaysia. Aeon CC only 3x access which I will exhaust pretty quickly.

Thanks for your help!
