Was surprised too...1 mil small number, how to be chiak biu leow? how can his 1 mil be compared with pipu with mm? If you read...he said he will be broke by the time his youngest daughter go to Uni, apart from his EPF... So to spend 1mil (plus some shares),..in 15-20 yrs with monthly 10k spending makes sense? Belum kira-kira... This post has been edited by OPT: Oct 9 2016, 10:04 AM |

QUOTE(yygo @ Oct 9 2016, 10:19 AM) 1 mil nowadays is not much unless one is retiring and not supporting kids studying overseas. Gen-X is an inspiration in terms of his wealth and his way of looking at life. Like "spend your children's inheritance". Hahaha ! |

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Oct 9 2016, 09:30 AM) Nothing diff actually. That's why I curious. Why people glorified asw so much. Just because of quota pffttt. Because of sentimental value..It's the oldest fund for non bumi.. Everyone have it.. Father, mother, children, grandchildren etc Example in my extended family. All have asw.. But u compare with as1m, only few have it including me |

The Seven Most Important Equations For Your Retirement will answer * how much money do I need * which depends on answer to how long will I live Will not give everyone a spot on answer but it is a good guide to start with. My quick estimate is this A = yearly expenses / net worth enough when A is 0.03 or less. |

My quick estimate is this A = yearly expenses / net worth enough when A is 0.03 or less. I think should replace the net worth by liquid asset excluding primary residence. |

QUOTE(twinkle5129 @ Oct 9 2016, 04:19 PM) I think I will still try to top up both ASW and ASM to about same level as AS1M. All 3 to be about same level if possible. Though I do understand the payout is about the same for all 3. |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Oct 8 2016, 06:24 PM) Yup. The trick is tell them you want topup xxx amount for ASW2020. Don't show them your other book. Once you get what you want for ASW2020, produce your book which you want to withdraw from. good trick.. asg is unit trust If they ask source of income before hand, you cannot use this trick. This was the trick I used to used to contra ASG to ASW2020. |
