You might want to add Colorful X1950GT 256MB DDR3 @ PCZone RM 599
http://legionhardware.com/document.php?id=611Aiyo.. confusing me summore. racun racun
Anyway, for 30 bucks cheaper, i'd rather go for the pro version. It needs to be cheaper, maybe around RM 500 - 550 i guess.
Anyway, 7900GS or 1950 Pro?
Just to add: I only play CS:Source atm (FM2007 doesnt count!) LoL

China brand are usually price lower as compare to those bigger reputable brand like asus, gigabyte and ect. Also those model you listed probably will be basic version, which just use the reference standard and clock speed like nvidia reference card. And I myself is using the acer 22 inch now and I would suggest you to get a card with 512mb memory if you want to run all your game at the native resolution, which is 1680x1050.
512mb? waahhh.. okayla, no need to play at native resolution, somewhere higher that 1024 is already acceptable. In CS:Source, in the widescreen reso, there's something lower than 1680, IIRC its 1440 is considered acceptable already. But 1024..
So, I still need 512mb? Anyway, if there's anyone who knows this is reading, what is actually the function of the ram in a graphics card? Vista premium requires a minimum of 128mb. No wonder the flip 3d kinda sluggish when i have more than 2 windows open.

Best PCI-E Card For ~$175: Tie
Radeon X1950 PRO
Codename: RV570, 90-nm technology
36 pixel shaders, eight vertex shaders, 12 Texture units, 12 raster operations
256-bit external memory bus (512-bit internal ring bus)
575-MHz core, 690-MHz DDR (1380 MHz effective) memory
The X1950 PRO is similar to the X1900 GT, the main difference being that it is not based on the X1900 XT, but a whole new and less power-hungry core. The card's main competition is the 7900 GS, which the X1950 PRO will beat in most benchmarks at stock speeds. However, the 7900 GS tends to be cheaper, and the X1950 PRO does not overclock well, so they are both good buys depending on what you plan to use them for.
GeForce 7900 GS
codename: G71, 90-nm technology
20 pixel shaders, seven vertex shaders, 20 texture units, 16 raster operator units
256-bit memory bus
450-MHz core, 660-MHz DDR (1320-MHz effective) memory
Essentially the card is an overclocked 7800 GT, sporting a 256-bit memory bus and decent clock speeds, it's a very good performer and a solid card for the money.
While the X1950 PRO is a stronger performer, it's also a bit more expensive. The 7900 GS also has a good overclocking reputation, while the X1950 PRO does not.

HEREI think i might opt for a 7900GS as i think im more familiar with the driver (there's only one) and its easier to get support in ubuntu and osx86 (QE and CI). what make/brand would you guys recommend? the more expensive the better, the higher the stock clock the better, or not necessarily?
