Annual fee RM98 not waivable

Actually, I am asking about SST. They been charging me SST since forever. I just want to know what is other people's experience.

Exact words from the T&C

There is no annual fee waiver for WISE Card.

sst can waiver...above few post ppl already said

SST : waive-able

I blind blind pay so many years, only now got to know can do.

Guys, I put rm70 petrol at Petronas on 28th Jan 2024. I paid by tapping my card at the terminal. (NOTE: Contactless, instead of inserting the card in)

However, I didn't receive any cashback under Petrol category. I received cashback as expected for Online, Grocery and Dining categories.

What am I doing wrong?

Maybe the MCC is not 5542.
If 5541, no CB for HLB Wise.

Call Hong Leong and request them to check the MCC. Maybe some error on their side, contactless would not be an issue as I regularly receive cashback on petrol for spending with wave/contactless.

Is there different MCC for insert card vs wave?

Don't think so. But the terminal may be assigned a MCC not 5542, which is rare but possible.
Check with HLB CS or wait for your next statement.

The terminal you tapped is at the pump gun side or inside counter?

I called HLB. CS agent confirmed transaction MCC captured as 5541.

I countered by saying I did it at the pump and there was a rm200 hold. She checked the system and verified the same.

She raised a dispute and I will know the outcome within 3 working days.

According to her, MCC is set by merchant.

I'm not sure if the fact I tapped my card vs insert card in terminal made a difference, but logically, I think it shouldn't matter.

Should not be as that got nothing to do with the transaction. Have you used this specific petrol station before? Could be that this station made a mistake.

This latest card to entitle the CB is need 500 spent per month right? thinking to reapply..

Yes, in order to get the 8% cb

Even less than RM500 you still can get 0.25% CB subject to minimum CB >RM0.50

Passby hlb branch always got ppl ask and promo about wise haha..
