Capacitor dashcam like the A119 will power off almost instantly when off engine. A capacitor can hold enough power to save the last video file and the settings only.

Your cheap China dashcam is it with a built-in battery? Those with a battery will do that as the battery can hold about a few minutes of recording power in them.

But battery have cons in our hot weather whereas capacitor don't.

How to separat a119s from its mount?

The padding online require if you feel the mount and A119 are loose.

What kind of settings you're looking at?

I do not know if the cheapchinacam is using battery or what but there is a exit animation been using it for 2 years.

the A119s just fades away, im wondering if this will corrupt the recordings.

So it seems my concern have been addressed on v2.2

I had issues with this issue. Prev I flashed v2.1 seem to resolve the issue for a few weeks, then its the same case again.



I notice that it does not power down as I have stated above as compared to my cheaperchinacam. that why I bought a new Sandisk High Endurance MicroSD card (still waiting for it to arrive) ... I thought the card was causing the corruption. I read about the update on 2.2 and saw it resolve the XXXXXX issue. Only today when removing it form my car I notice mine also has the XXXXXXX (lower left of the screen)



after update the exit seems to hold a while and the LED was flashing a while.. hopefully it resolve the issue.

No worries. All capacitor dashcam is power off instantly when you off the engine. I never had any corrupted files before with any capacitor dashcam.

You can check the last video file and see if it is corrupted or not.

Viofo A119/A119S have been tested by a lot of beta testers in DCT forums. Viofo is a good manufacturer who listens to users.

just had an accident. Try to recall the video just second before it happen. But the the last vid file cannot playback on PC.

How to rectify this?

can the file playback in a119 itself or it cant? if its only cant playback on pc, try use others software to playback. vlc or mpc should do the job.

Guys my 3M tape sticking rear brake light already loose and drop sometimes...


Strange.. even 3M tape can't stick on that plastic light case..

Any solution? Or better tape available.. sticky as possible..

Maybe can repair the video on Windows using those video editing software

Clean the windscreen with some glass cleaner. Usually dirty surface will make the tape unable to stick well and also the hot sun will further make it drop.

Try clear acrylic double sided tape. I'm using this bought from Ace and it's very good. Didn't drop and easy to tear off clean if needed.

Hi, I read that you need 32gb sd to update the firmware. Does that mean I need to allocate one dedicated 32gb just for firmware alone? Can we use the 64gb used in the cam? Thx

Any under 32gb microSD card (16gb or 8gb) is required to update the firmware.

Cause only fat32 file system can be used. 64gb cannot be formatted or used as fat32. Only exfat.
