i am still short on info .. info on ppl who spektrum their 4g3 are few and scattered all over
plus me newbie in the hobby .. makes things even worse
then thing that makes me wanna spektrum the 4g3 is becoz #1 i can use my dx7 with it .. #2 HH gyro ... hahahahahaaa

cliffang ... since u are in the hobby longer i would assume u are more familiar with the way the electronics work on heli

would the servos of the 4g3 work with a spektrum receiver ??
spektrum receiver voltage will be bumped up to 5v or so using voltage step up module
the output of the receiver to the servos are what voltages ?? 5v ?? i dunno if the servos of the 4G3 can take 5v ..

If crash a lot of parts have to changed wor if I go for CP.......I'm still new to this fp or cp......I know that the fp will be much more unstable or difficult to fly than coaxial..... If I go for cp then I have to buy some spare part to standby liao lor..... Where is Graffiti? Check the 4#3b as well.....

the difference in cp and fp is in the HEAD .. cp head has more parts and components thus making it more difficult to setup and repair .. thats it
after saying that .. got sifoo told me this morning that cp will be easier to control coz headspeed is much higher .. the downside is cyclic will be more sensitive and quick .. higher headspeed when u crash the blades into something then of coz more damage laa ... hahahaahahaa

err ... what can i say ??
hovering the 4g3 out on the front porch in 1 car space with mild wind is a mini challenge now .. hovering indoors can go on indefinitely until batt runs out

it shows perseverance and determination pays .. hahahaha

on the other hand ... i just rewound the tail motor ... 2nd rewind in 3 days coz after 1st rewind motor was not starting up smoothly and inconsistent
after spending the last 3 hours making sure everything was good and smooth .. hovered another pack in bedroom easily ... hahahahaa

The servo of walkera is rated at 4.8V as normal servo, so spektrum can work with it provided the ESC is 4.8v. Just need to mod the plug to fit spektrum. The 4 in 1 RX had a voltage regulator which is quite useful.
All of this is by understanding, we need to see the actual unit, tested out with DMM to confirm.
The mod shouldn't be hard.

hmm ... like this i wait for u to get your 4g3 or 4#3 and convert to spektrum/JR (they are the same sheet anyways)
then i follow .. dont wanna go the next step without full info la me .. hehehe

This is something we should be doing if goting for an upgrade.
Just change the RX and add gyro, provided the voltage from the BEC of ESC is rated at 4.8v.
Allan, maybe you can check the voltage with DMM do double confirm.

OEM parts oso dont have meh ??
DD is aftermarket stuff or what ?? your tail runs with gear mehsing one rite ??
if DD then the rpm and all have to check liau and count liau .. your big and small gear how many teeth and what kv your current motor specs
otherwise cannot get the correct rpm to match the power of the main motor
convert to brushless laa ... can last forever if u dont bang it .. hehehe

if u serious then go offer uniqueXme a price for his USED almost new 4G3 la .. brushless main motor with brushed tail .. its good enuff for u to learn until can hover b4 upgrading ... even if u upgrade walkera OEM BL tail its only usd35 ... not expensive
then get tools and parts ready to repair the thing for the 1st 1-2 months ... by that time u would have gathered enuff technical info and flight time to hover well liau hopefully ..

i am thinking of offering uniqueXme for his used 4G3 liau .. get another one into my collection .. see how much he willing to nego ... hehehe

The DD is plug and play for HBFP2...

Ok, let's say I bought the 4#3b now (RM580 full brushless) and when I master flying this heli few months later I will think about to buy 4G3 (RM880). Why not I just go for 4G3 now and this will saved me at least RM580...... I will try to learn a bit a time....slow slow hovering and try to avoid crash lor if can lar.....

its all entirely up to u ... if u think u can do it then just do it lorr
i have gone thru it and still going thru it ... hehehe
