If you get a good deal, why not? But RM5K rebate for a pre-facelift display unit doesn't look very attractive. I would go for at least RM10K rebate and provided it is not used as a test drive car.

My friend got RM8K rebate for a pre-facelift Mazda 3 GL and it wasn't a display car.

Yeah the model i am getting is not a test drive car.

8k got include free gifts? hmm.gif Mine is the high spec version though. too bad Labuan only one dealer not much bargaining power laugh.gif

Sales rep mentioned HQ said new facelift model only available in October..

Free smart tag, free full tank petrol and umbrella.

Oh I see, only one dealer so lack of bargaining power. Well, RM5K rebate is not too bad under the circumstances I suppose.

unsure.gif  should I proceed with my purchase then. Hmmmm. But is yours the face lifted version?
*
If you really like it, then I say go for it. No point regretting when you get another. And yea, all GVC models are the latest face-lift ones. Wanted the hatchback so had to wait for this with the high spec. The pre face-lift model was only mid spec.

from my experience, paid everything before they register the car, no chance to choose the car before payment, not like buying other stuff.

Awesome! So he's made it an app! He's a very active and prominent contributor in the mazda3rev forums for our CMU hacks and have been following him since he started this project. Am glad that he finally made a legit app out of it. Just visited his website, turns out he's partnered with a Msia company? It doesn't seem like it is actually from Mazda though. Word of caution, it doesn't touch your firmware BUT as it is not from Mazda if something does go wrong (It does add certain scripts to your CMU so... Essentially the wifi option has been turned off with the newer firmwares and you need to use SSH to re-enable it for the mirroring to work with WIFI with a script you feed into a USB. Mebbe he found out how to do it wirelessly? I can't say for sure) you will need to pay Mazda to unboot it. Most probably won't happen though, the app has been in beta for a long time and it works for me like 60% of the time during those trials; probably tweaked it better since. If it happens there is a fix on the forum though but you have to really know what you're doing and it's not 100% apparently. Also if you're tech savvy you can actually DIY so you can save MYR22 whistling.gif I would probably buy it though. It's not expensive at all, worth the buy. Finally can use waze on our CMU without trying to connect to the mirror link like a bazillion times first like I did! If he successfully enabled touch screen not just from our phone but through the CMU display screen, even better! We were able to do that with the Android Auto but the functions were limited.

Sorry, forgot to add his web link here: http://www.lukasz-skalski.com/portfolio/smart-mzd-player/

It seems that the app has a lot of compatibility issues and you do have to manually insert the script via USB. I would hold off from buying full version. Read his website for the disclaimers.

Bought it.
Tried on way home.
The first boot up is to insert the script but i believe doesnt alter the firmware.
Took 3 min for it to complete. Im leaving the usb thumbdrive permanently there so no need to reinitialise.
Screen mirroring work flawlessly but audio is via bluetooth. Used waze.
Although far frim perfect but im giving 5 stars anyway

Drivers still prefer Waze or Google Maps, not Mazda maps.

In house gps is good but could be better.
Its like i phone.. works good but cant tailor to niche need
Waze is like android... can be clunky but with online realtime usrs updates it gives more value ... at times

the GPS in our car is better than many other cars out there, it is fast and smooth once loaded, and also follow the car's orientation accurately, when zoom in to the nearest level it can show the name of the street, which is good to use when you are in some residential area that you are not used to, not to mention navigation is integrated with our HUD drool.gif

the bad thing about the GPS is the typing, and a lot of new places dont display in the map which is why i still use my phone

That's great! I don't have an atas android phone because it's just my secondary line so it doesn't work most of the time cry.gif . Share some vids if possible, I would really love to see how easy it is to use. What is your firmware version and what's your android version/phone?

My car's istop battery has malfunctioned for two months now and I'm still driving it. Touch wood still ok can start up etc. Can someone remind me if I can still get a battery change from Mazda FOC if I've had my car for more than a year? I read somewhere you can change the battery once but don't remember if there was a time limit. If not, what battery should I change, where and how much?

Anyway I suspect my car's battery effed up because I let it sit too long without starting the car coz I was away for 6 weeks. I asked my cousin to start it but she didn't so.. oh well.

Last thing, does anyone's steering wheel vibrate noticeably while braking/slowing down around 80-90 mph? I don't remember if it used to do that before, so I am not sure if this is normal or if I should bring it up the next time I service my car. Thanks for the help!

It seems that initialising the app from USB to CMU is done everytime CMU is started up. This reconfirms that CMU firmware is not touched at all. Downside is after starting car, need 3 min before can connect to phone. USB connection to phone is a must. in a way its ok since using apps like waze will drain battery so not big issue (as it will charge the phone at the same time).
Video maybe or maybe not. Lots of it on youtube already one from citt (malaysian who is the distibutor on this region appstore). Im using S7 Android 6, nougat (7). CMU Firmware 56.?.? (cant remember exactly). SmartMZD X ver6.
Sorry if my post earlier is away from Mazda3 issue
I have kruk kruk sound from front ?absorber if its rainy or wet from driving through puddles and then drive over road bump. No such sound if its dry

It needs to have something feeded into it by replacing certain scripts or changing its values. I looked at the coding before. Not sure what counts for not touching the firmware but doesn't really matter to me. I use the same thing you do except I did not pay for that app and got it for free in the forum. You don't have to have the script permanently in the USB, it is a one time thing. If you didn't have the USB with the script plugged in after the first time you did it, it will still work. If I am not wrong, if you keep it in, every time you start your car you are basically re-feeding the script again (I may be wrong). But glad it works fine for you!

You can just tell your service center about that (the kurk kruk etc). It's a known issue and they have solutions for it.
