Did you test the Mazda 6 2.5L petrol or the 2.2L diesel? The diesel version is much more powerful.

Mazda 3 and 6 are two different segments. If got budget of course go for the higher segment, the Mazda 6.

Difference mostly just size. M3 C-segment like Toyota Altis but a bit cramped compared to its contemporaries. For family use still okay but could be better.

M6 is D-segment like Toyota Camry. Better for family use

Me personally I prefer 3 because still unmarried and drive a lot in KL, the smaller size is easier for my terrible parking skills.

IMHO if you can afford the 6 just get the 6. No need to swap cars later when you need bigger space.

lexus is mercedes level, camry not even close, if compare mazda 6 or 3 with lexus, i'd said in term of comfort, interior and detailed finishing, mazda still lose quite a lot

i've driven m6 2.2 diesel, gear change is amazing it shift as fast as DSG, full torque @ 2k rpm, even fully loaded with 4 adult passengers still can feel the power

m3 is good for small family, if you try to take 4 adults, it might be cramp for rear passenger and you will feel a big lose in power due to the increased in weight

both are good car for normal drive as well as spirited driving, but i will stick to m3 since i dont really like to drive big car

I think space requirements in the coming few years should be a major decision driver in your case.

I drive an M3 hatch and find the boot space to be unimpressive.
I struggle with 4 adults and luggage - one of the bags will have to travel at the back seat.
Golf bags are also an issue for me. I usually have to put down one seat for it to fit.
Child seats may be an issue, depending on how far back your passenger seat is pushed to.

I fall into the family with young child category, and find the 3 to be too small to be my primary car.

Despite me being the owner of a mazda and quite a fan of it, based on your potential budget, I would suggest that you also take a look at the upcoming new Hyundai Elantra or the just announced Kia Optima GT. Don't close off options unless you're dead set on it.  :thumbsup:

Stop thinking about lemon cars. You may get what you are trying to avoid because your mind is so focused on it. 

Anyway, nobody in this forum got a lemon car so I don't think you will be the first.

3 days holiday for KL and some other states, maybe most of us are travelling, i just back from JB, kena 1 saman while going to JB, dont speed after Muar
if you managed to get a lemon car, do share with us your experience, because we only have the common issue like lower arm bush sound, and premature battery failure, some of us got dashboard rattling sound randomly

for those with mazda 3 without gvc,  anyone try the facelifted? Really huge different for the road noise and gvc?  Thinking of getting one.

Ya, I already feedback to Mazda Malaysia on the outdated website, they just replied noted and working on updating it. Really slow, should get the website ready with new info on launch day.

nope, ours is CKD, no CBU for M3 in Malaysia.. unless Mazda Labuan not under Mazda Malaysia...

I think your sales rep need to send for re-training. Mazda 3 GVC model has been launched in April this year and it's CKD. There are no CBU Mazda 3 on sale now.

RM5000 rebate for a pre-facelift display unit car? Not a very good deal. You can get RM8K (maybe more) for pre-facelift non-GVC Mazda 3 now and they are not display units.

If you get a good deal, why not? But RM5K rebate for a pre-facelift display unit doesn't look very attractive. I would go for at least RM10K rebate and provided it is not used as a test drive car.

My friend got RM8K rebate for a pre-facelift Mazda 3 GL and it wasn't a display car.
