most of us is first hand owner, so far no major complain other than the lower arm bush giving sound when going through bumps and during rainy days, but it doesn't affect the handling of the car though

for pre-owned cars, i would be more confident to purchase from mazda pre-owned instead of 2nd hand dealer outside, and it come with mazda warranty as well if i'm not mistaken

roadtax is around RM369 for 2.0 if i'm not mistaken

What do you mean 2015 is 2.0? There is only 2.0 variant in Malaysia for the Mazda 3..
Roadtax is not killing you, the insurance, yes. Without NCD, it would be costs you around 3k for the first year. If you have 55% NCD, that will save you alot..

Maintenance giving you problem? Normal service also more or less 200 - 300, depends on what Engine oil you want to use (I mean after warranty, you can do it outside). Standard what..

Battery, yes. Start-Stop battery is a pain and seems it doesn't last long compare with normal battery. Life span macam around 1 year to 1 year 6 months then giving up already. Cost around RM 500.

Tire, 18 inches. There are so many choices out there. Price range starting 350 - 700 also got. Choose yourself.

What else? Brake pad, around 300 ++ for front pads, 200++ for rear pads.

Regarding the bushes, no comment. Since I got replacement from SC and no more weird noise up to now from the bushes. But some member still face this issue, no idea what happened.

1.6 is previous gen, doesn't have skyactiv. Unless what you aiming is the previous gen, then I have no idea what could be the maintenance cost..

Hi all, is the one time FOC dead battery claim still valid now? I drove to the dealer today because the battery warning indicator came up today but they said that it's no longer valid and I will need to purchase a new battery for RM750. I would like to know if this is official or the dealer don't want to honor the claim.

There are great deals for pre-facelift Mazda 3 models now. You can pick up a GL for less than RM100K OTR without insurance.

You can use ordinary battery but i-stop will not work and will indicate an error.

The new policy for battery replacement is 1 year or 20,000km whichever comes first. You can buy an i-stop battery outside for about RM500.

Can they change the policy just like that? When I bought my car it should still be covered under 3 years or 60k km.

Please do not take offense.. But it does really sound like you are not financially ready to own such a car yet.. Cars are depreciating assets.. NEVER buy more car than you can manage. "Common" road tax, which should be the least of your worries, you are complaining is expensive.. doh.gif

If you still want to upgrade your current vehicle, I advice you change to something cheaper to buy and maintain.

No need rush to buy your dream car, set it as a goal.

If really need a car then get a car that's easy on maintain and do more saving for investment.
For sure you will able to get better car in the future.

Yeah, if salary isn't high today.. It'll be higher in the future, then can buy without worrying so much about monthly installments or maintenance costs. Only in-demand and well maintained classic cars appreciate in value.. Every other car loses money the minute you drive it off the sales lot.. For instance, I hope to buy a Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo in the future.. Can buy today? Yes, but means end up living on the street and eating Maggie noodles.. laugh.gif
