I actually thought Kimi would win this race as Ferrari has clearly the faster car currently. But the gap is not as exaggerated as one would think. I think it's about 0.2-0.3s btw us and the Ferrari.

still need to wait on reliability issues too sweat.gif
i dunno la..everytime see kimi also heart attack. i hope its not his style of driving that causing us all the problems
doh.gif

if so...56 million down the drain lo...

but hamilton looks decent to say the least

Decent is an understatement. He was on pace with a double world champion in his first race which says it all really notworthy.gif

article 77d from FIA
QUOTE(FIA)
77 d) Unless he has used wet or extreme-weather tyres during the race, each driver must use at least one set of each specification of dry-weather tyres during the race.

Massa and Ferrari clearly breached that

plus...Massa's not up front.
If not...surely Ferrari 1-2.
They have the pace nod.gif
Truly faster than anybody else.

Anyways, still the 1st race.
But compare to last year where Ferrari struggle in the beginning...this morning was pretty good.

ROARRR!!!!!

the reason why i say it's just one race because of my opinion of massa. though it may not be the same or it may not be fair to compare the two as one was a rookie and one was not. last season, when i first saw massa, i was like OMG, this guy is gonna cause ferrari a title...but now, among the quickest in the sport? time changes everything -forgot which singer tongue.gif

No, the tyre rule does not have anything to do with the tyre rule

Massa admits being humble.
But his actions and body language + facial expression says otherwise.

Deep inside he wants the #1 spot at Ferrari.
Jealousy also when Kimi replace Michael and got all the attention.
But if he has the spirit like the late great Ayrton Senna...then unleash it.

I think the FIA will just look away if no team complained. From what I read, nobody is complaining, expecting the FIA to do the same favour to them if they want to do it. But ImO, why make a rule when you let someone break it?

fastest laps
1 6 Kimi Rikknen Ferrari 41 1:25.235

2 1 Fernando Alonso McLaren-Mercedes 20 1:26.314

3 2 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 20 1:26.351

4 10 Robert Kubica BMW 19 1:26.642 <----- rclxms.gif

5 16 Nico Rosberg Williams 40 1:26.721

6 9 Nick Heidfeld BMW 37 1:26.722

7 3 Giancarlo Fisichella Renault 18 1:26.892

8 5 Felipe Massa Ferrari 28 1:27.044

9 15 Mark Webber Red Bull-Renault 21 1:27.501

10 4 Heikki Kovalainen Renault 44 1:27.592 <-- he spins more than a DJ

Renault boss Flavio Briatore has refused to give any allowance for Heikki Kovalainen's rookie status and slammed the Finn's error-strewn F1 debut in the Australian GP.

After failing to qualify in the top ten, Kovalainen struggled throughout the season-opening race, committing a series of mistakes and making regular excursions off the track. Having impressed throughout winter testing, his dismal performance was a considerable surprise and one which left his temperamental team boss thoroughly unimpressed.

"Kovalainen had a horrible race," Briatore told RAI. "You need to be realistic: he did almost everything wrong.

"Of course he's a rookie but so is Hamilton so in these two weeks before the next race he needs to change his attitude and try to do better, because he has the capability to do it. Nothing went right today."

It wasn't an especially good day for the reigning World Champions overall either, with the underwhelming Giancarlo Fisichella unable to make an impression at the front of the grid. For the moment at least, Renault appear to be behind BMW and McLaren, as well as the front-running Ferrari.

According to Briatore, his team are around three-tenths of a second per lap slower than their leading rivals - a deficit he blames squarely on the switch to Bridgestone tyres following Michelin's exit from F1.

"We had a balanced car on Michelin, so to switch to Bridgestone we had a disadvantage, while McLaren had a different design so they had an advantage," he complained.

However, the Italian believes that Renault can still usurp McLaren and Ferrari this season.

"We haven't finished development, because when we fitted Bridgestones in the wind tunnel we lost 7%, so we've recovered some of it. When we did the first test with McLaren on track, they had three tenths over us already.

"We hope to recover by Bahrain, when we'll get the new aerodynamic parts."

heh...no surprise to me. Heikki really did a lot of mistakes in that race. I have never seen anyone else doing that many mistakes in just 1 race. I'm sure you'll agree with me on this too.
