Do you know if I can have two supplementary cards filled without phone number? I intend to apply straight for two cards. If it really needs to, I can fill in one of them with a number but I can't be conveniently ignoring the other one and not filling any contact no. for it right? hmm.gif
Or I apply on two separate occasions? hmm.gif

Good question. I'm not too sure about this. My assumption, can leave empty for both because I think IC copy is all the bank needs. I could be wrong though.

I got a question about the 10% cashback. How does it work actually? Can anybody enlighten me about this? 🤔

First of all, any outstanding balance will have the following charge percentages, depending on the criteria:
15% p.a. (daily interest) - Cardholders who promptly settle their minimum payment due for 12 consecutive month
17% p.a. (daily interest) - Cardholders who promptly settle their minimum payment due for 10 months or more in a 12 month cycle; and
18% p.a. (daily interest) - Cardholders who do not fall within the above categories.

IINM, if you haven't promptly settle the minimum payment for 10 months and above, your interest would be 18% per annum, which translates to 1.5% per month, and from that 1.5% interest you get 10% rebate.

Secondly, nobody would actually be attracted to this feature unless you can't settle your outstanding or even minimum payment. Then again credit cards would not be useful for you and it would cause you to dig a deeper hole of debt. And this is also one of the ways banks make profit, as a smart consumer we should not let them take our hard-earned money icon_idea.gif

Greetings guys,

Recently applied for CIMB Credit Card and just now received email saying that my application has been rejected but doesn't specify any reason for their rejection.

Were wondering if anyone know their way of processing? I mean do they check those CCRIS/CTOS, loans, etc.?

I got no loans, and clean of debts with a RM3k salary but still got rejected.

Regards.

Could be because of your record is too clean, as in no record at all for them to evaluate your behaviour. What about PTPTN?

No PTPTN also.
Living with debt free also not a good idea now.

If first card, try applying from your salary crediting bank account. It seems banks like UOB, Citibank are quite OK for first timer.

Too bad then. My first card was from CIMB and my salary crediting account is always in Maybank.
Try other bank or you can appeal from CIMB.

Oh. Thought would be easier to apply with the same salary crediting account since they can check/monitor easily.
Never knew will get rejected.

I will try to apply again see how if still fail then I guess I'll have to try other banks.

Thanks for your help!

You have already applied and get rejected. So you cannot re-apply again anytime soon, banks will recommend 6 months cooling period. However, for now you can appeal again or just wait to re-apply after 6 months.

Just write them an email telling you were rejected by them recently. You would like to appeal as you don't see a reason why you should be rejected and ask them to give you a chance, if needed you are willing to send in more supporting documents.

Apparently CIMB has this T&C that if the cash rebate for the billing month is less than rm10, the system will allow us to pay the statement balance less the rebate amount.

However, if the cash rebate is more than rm10 in that billing month, you need to pay the stated statement balance without deducting the cash rebate. If you don't do that, you will be penalised with finance charges for the difference.

I just checked my CIMB Clicks and I was hit by RM20++ (small amount, I know) finance charges for last month's bill. I called up CS Centre and I was told of such T&C by the lady on the other side of the line. I have checked the T&C on CIMB's website but it doesn't state such T&C. I have yet to check the T&C booklet that came along with the credit card.

So, I'm just curious if anyone here got hit by such charges? I usually pay all my credit card bills by deducting the cash rebate from the statement balance. I always assumed that as long as the credit card account shows RM0.00 for outstanding balance and minimum payment, it means I have cleared all my payment due to the bank.

P.S. Please correct me if I'm wrong and I'm using CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard
