QUOTE(sa10 @ Aug 29 2017, 10:17 AM) Car Type: Toyota Vios 2011 Suspension geometry limitation..Tyre Type & Profile: Michelin XM2 175/60/R14 Tyre Aging: 3years/26000km+ (changed in Aug 2014) Maintenance Status: Perform tire rotation, balancing & alignment yearly Condition: 4 tires worn evenly, no sidewall cracking, or abnormal peel off on tread Symptom 1: Front left suspension vibrates much while doing right u-turn on wet road condition (raining) Symptom 2: Front right suspension vibrates much while doing left u-turn on wet road condition (raining) The symptoms only happen on wet but not dry road condition. I have no idea. Happens to cars with thick sidewall tyres.. Basically the dynamic camber during the u turns causes the tyre to ride almost on the sidewall.. the tyre slips.. because the turn anglenis too great... |

QUOTE(TNTroXxor @ Sep 16 2017, 04:55 PM) 2017 civic 1.8s stock tyres want to trade in for something else. Plan to drive into a tyre shop on the same day as I get my car. 215/55/16 dont have much choice.1. How much trade in value for those 4 stock tyres (MC5 I think?) 2. Any recommendation? I prioritize durability, comfort and grip. In that order. I'm a soft driver 20% city 80% highway Edit : stock tyre is 215/55/R16 i believe the few common options u have are ps3/3st michelin and yokohama maybe for yr second question, suggest use 3st suitable to what u ask for. why not use the mc5 by the way?not good enough for u? |

i just changed my stock tire for Proton Iriz 1.6 MT. From 195/55r15 to 195/60r15. I was told later that my speedometer would be inaccurate due to increase in tire diameter. I just wonder if this truly was a bad tire change. Or is it possible to recalibrate the speedometer?

Why the change to 195/60? I feel that the 195/55 is tall enough.. and there is no shortage of options for 195/55R15.. speedo calibration is not possible.. calibrate mentally... |

Yes the meter readings will be understated by your change. Note though that many cars actually have inaccurate meter readings to begin with! So one way to find out is just by comparing your speed between your speedo and a GPS device at constant highway speeds, say 100kph. If they're the same then actually you've corrected the inaccuracies of the std meters but if not then the GPS reading is the correct one. As for recalibrating the speedo. no cannot. |

QUOTE(TNTroXxor @ Sep 17 2017, 08:31 PM) I'm in sales so I drive a lot. On average I drive 3300km/mth. Durability has to be my top priority then comfort So how often can you afford to change tires, every year/2 years/3 years? If you can afford to change tires once every 2 years then I suggest for you to still go for high performance tires with good grip rather than durability. coz tires like Michelin PS3 with tread wear rating of 320 can last around 50k km or even a bit more if driven normally and with regular tire rotation at least every 20k km. But if you can only afford to change tires once every 3 years or more then you need to look for high durability tires with tread wear rating like 400 or above, for example Michelin XM2, Hankook S1 Noble 2, etc2 which are mostly low end category tires. |

Speedometer has always been inaccurate to begin with.In a way, I consider this as a 'good' tyre change in possibly gaining 'better' mileage. Stick to it and worry not. |

looking to change my stock tyre on satria neo after 4 years
seems like not much option for 195/50R16 so may need to go for 205/45R16 right? How much should i expect for Hankook V12 Evo2? any other better recommendation around the same price? |
