If you don't go any bigger say CX8 or Korean models with bigger engines, those are your SUV options plus the newly launched X90.Plan to buy a NEW/USED car?(V3),, ASK HERE for recommendations

QUOTE(vimaa94 @ Jun 22 2023, 11:00 AM) Currently driving '06 City v-tec, my daily drive. Already done major engine overhaul, such a workhorse and barely gives any issues. Thought of keeping this as secondary car and was considering either 2nd hand civic ketam or new almera/vios. Personally I try to have cars of different age. ExampleIf A is above 10 years, then B hopefully below 5 years. Easier to plan disposal before they hit 20 years. Since your City is already 17 years old, won't recommend you get another unit above 10 years. If your budget below 100K, can test drive & consider Alza - same engine, gearbox, chassis as Vios with bigger space, longer wheelbase for high speed stability. Cheaper price. 5 yr warranty while you focus on old City repairs. Waiting time 9-12 months, ouch. |

QUOTE(technosakai @ Jun 25 2023, 08:18 PM) for family usage. normal city use most of the time, only highway - probably nkve, elite, federal, ldp.. the usual KV highways. For 20K probably any Myvi or Vios in Carsome, Mytukar are taken up by dealers before they appear for sale. So you can only see eg 2014 Saga or Vivamaybe occasional interstate travels. just generally, say buy through a platform. Maybe carsome / mytukar. budget 20k.. what can I get? Myvi (1st and 2nd gen - lagi best?) or 1st gen vios? Car dealers, https://www.mudah.my/2014+Perodua+MYVI+1+3+...+-100241892.htm But.. Likely the usual modified mileage and extra processing fee demanded. Vios likely go back to year 2007/8 might be found after some careful search. |

Suggest you test drive the new Serena, Zenix, Staria and revisit your requirements as they may change later. Eg. Petrol, Hybrid, Diesel.. real_cranium liked this post

QUOTE(real_cranium @ Jul 13 2023, 04:10 PM) Initially wanted to put 100 to 150k but I'm willing to pay up to 180k if the car is worth it. 165K new Innova Zenix might be worth a test drive with its new comfortable platform instead of going the used vehicle route which requires additional maintenance budget.Serena, but read super lots of issue with it. Might not worth the hassle. Voxy. Seems decent. Interested with it but has no experience in recond. I guess it's no issue since many people using recond already. Alphard or Vellfire is a better buy in the long run. I always think the cars are too big, Kia Carnival (not the latest version). Saw some good used selling around 100k in Mudah. Will let others comment on the used vehicles eg Carnival but agree with you the Alphard Vellfire van really too big to manoeuvre at close to 5Meters. |

QUOTE(Kappa123XD @ Jul 18 2023, 10:16 PM) Currently found few but the mileage is kinda high, looking for lower mileage. Also seeking at mudah.com, carlist, carsome etc.. After two decades of Waja, suggest a new car. Reason: Pretty/Classy look for first of course and spacious seat. Old car is Waja 2000, served me well for a period of time and also i might work at city soon, so decided to get a better car. I I mean other car recommendation is welcome, just wanna look for the best Do consider test drive X50. Its classy, powerful & comfortable if you're not too worried about fuel consumption. |

QUOTE(real_cranium @ Aug 9 2023, 02:51 PM) I'm at a stage in my professional career where my peers are all driving an at least a D segment conti. Was heading a department in a financial co, my boss one day told me no longer acceptable ride bike to office. I'm perfectly fine with my Honda City (I myself rode my Honda CB500X to work for easy commute reasons) but was wondering with my wife if we're saving too much (haha). Currently looking into like a good used Camry or Accord. I'm somewhat wary about conti due to their maintenance cost and I'm capable to service my own car myself. However if you still need to help maintain an image for your co, then agreed a D segment japanese make should be considered in lieu of a continental one (not sure why this perception still prevalent with their horrific quality nowdays) If possible, this should be separate from your family vehicle to ferry your very young kids around which perhaps your wife can take charge of. Something smaller than Vellfire Alphard you were considering as they're just too.. damn hugh. |

QUOTE(aakash22 @ Aug 28 2023, 07:56 AM) Thanks for the response, just wondering if a 2.0NA is sufficient or should i just stretch my budget and get the 2.5NA? Hmmm, you should ask this in Mazda forums.Just my limited opinion below since the last Mazda I owned was a 323. Took another neighbour CX5 2.5 to PD a couple of times, felt there wasn't significant increase in performance between the 2.0 models. Maybe 1 sec faster from start in city? But these are SUVs you don't race in them so for most of the time it felt almost the same as my cousins 2.0 unit in terms of handling and highway comfort. So you have to decide if the extra 12K, higher roadtax, 19" wheels etc is worth it. Another consideration is the very old CX5 platforms, so if space is not a priority, the slightly smaller newer CX30 is an option (from my one only test drive) with more modern outlook and interior stuff like extra airbag to 7, sunroof, paddle shifters, bigger infotainment, auto highbeam blah blah. Do test drive. Lastly, if im travelling 200KM daily presumably highways, I would be looking at Mazda 3 sedan instead. Smooth as silk. Sat in the rear a few times KL-JB yes slightly tight but still comfortable (if you have > 1 regular passenger) |
