Hybrids have lower fuel consumption but you pay more for the tech. Breakeven point if you hit a certain mileage which
can be calculated. Meaning if u don't drive a lot, then no need hybrid

Many years back, my daughter learning to drive wasn't good in her skills.

So i bought her an old Wira sedan 3-Speed auto. Did its job well before we sold it off. 6K+2.5K repairs - sold 3. 5K = Loss 5K over 4 years travelled ard 40-50K mileage

Once you signoff on receiving the car, the after sales support will come from Service Centre. C & D.

Sales is A & B only. However top salesman may take the initiative to go into AFTER sales and assist you with scheduling maintenance, warranty claims etc but quite rare.

They will arrange if car needs to be towed to nearest service centre which will rectify the issue, parts free if still under warranty. Or dispatch new battery to your stranded car etc

Car regular maintenance, by months or mileage, just book online and drive to selected service centre, enjoy the coffee, movie or come back later. If luxury makes, service centre will come collect the car from your location

Used cars may be great choices cos w same budget
Can go for higher segment, variants since first owners absorb
the initial sharp depreciation.

However need to know how to look for well maintained vehicle not trashed, major accident or flooded. Else stick to reputable orgs like

If older than 4-6 years, roughly know which major components needs attention and possible replacement and if breakdown, have some basic car knowledge to communicate w mechanic to avoid getting slaughtered

Else stick to new units and use the 5 year warranty period & support by authorised service centres to pick up the skills above.

For tall or bigger drivers, proton would definitely be more comfortable than Perodua units at this price range.

Some additional stuff u might want to consider

Local B40 cars most take long loans to buy. Usually a strong reason to dispose within first 5 years, beware of technical issues apart from accident, flood etc.

If can add 7K to your budget you can get brand new Persona Standard. Mid 2021 there were significant tweaks that made new Proton models a much better drive but

Proton S50 (Geely Emgrand) coming, not sure if replace Persona or sell alongside, if replace then Persona end of life might have support issue after years down the road.

Secondly, how is your usage going to be
Distance - daily, occasionally
Route - city, highway, kampong
Size- A, B segment, Parking spots
Looks - sedan, hatch, suv
Interior - seating, comfort, leather, entertainment
Safety - Pre-Collision braking? Auto highbeam?

Usually new drivers first time car owners, better to get cheap second hand unit. Scratches, accident not so painful and got time to build up NCD.

Botak tyres look at manufacturing date on sidewall.

If say 2619, means in made week 26 year 2019 have travelled 60-80K km since then depending on tyre brand and type.

Within the first 5 years warranty for new cars,any parts failure exclude wear & tear should be replaced? That's the advantage of buying new vs the depreciation if sold early on.

By the way, new Axia no manual but the current model still have stock. RM25K

Highway 110+kmh any car handle if not too curvy. But can still improve by looking at bars, suspension & tyres.

Total still much cheaper than changing to new car.
