These options from EcoTint shop has much better spec than the Honda variants... but for 2.8k, should consider going for those US based films like Vkool, 3M, Raytech, Llumar and Huber Optik instead?
*
Will check those out too. But what are the advantages of these US based films?

42% TSER for the front... Should be less than 70% IRR 😂 And windscreen is the most important.
*
Irr for front is actually 80%. Last time my SA showed the actual specs to me.

Saw a Red Honda Civic 1.5T at Regal Valet, Damansara when I went to wash my car today. Anybody from here?

There was also a Rolls Royce there doing the GYEON MOHS+ coating.  brows.gif

I wonder what comes across the mind of this Rolls Royce owner for such comparison.. different class totally... but surely the FC means something to all owners here..

Well... I would definitely go for them vs. Ecotint given the similar pricing, those 5 big brands are more established too. I know Brand like Raytech has nationwide warranty, not sure about the rest as I've only had experience with Raytech so far.

Unless that Ecotint shop if you go there, don't void any warranty etc so I guess Ecotint thumbsup.gif

Ah okay, still worse off compared to the other brands though but advantage is no worries on the warranty thumbsup.gif

I have asked the 3M dealer, the Honda tint offer is direct cut material from manufacturer, so the dealer only do the tinting sub con works for honda. So the film grade might be different.

That's part of the Body in White (BIW) of the car.  Typically, it's stamped and welded together on a jig by robots and not manually welded.  The "clay" you see is also not clay but some type of epoxy which is commonly used in joints of sheets for cars (even BMW's here) .  Honda should be very stringent on the specs of the BIW for their cars and it's all based on automated manufacturing process.

Here is a pic of the BIW for the 2016 Civic.  See how stringent Honda is in using different materials in the BIW for safety and ridgity purposes.

Do you think Honda Malaysia will cut usage of expensive high tensile steel to manufacture civic in Malaysia? whistling.gif

Ah I see. So basically the tints are pre cut from factory itself. Well seems reasonable since they mentioned doing this does not damage the glass surface from the cutting works.

Honda City much easier to bypass, don't need to remove the HU 😂 Got a small area to access from below the aircond panel to do it. But Civic one much more complicated.

By default, mirroring is only enabled when the gear is in "Park". In other modes, it would be disabled. If you want to use Waze, you need to install the bypass cable such as the one shown below. In the future, Android Auto will allow waze.

49% of heat from sun are coming from the IRR so the higher IRR % the better the heat rejection.
But high IRR % (normally 98-99%) may give a problem to smartag. I've tried a windscreen tint with 93% IRR and smartag still ok. I also used to IRR <70% for windscreen and heat rejection is intolerable for me.

Thanks bro smile.gif
They have a Raya promo ongoing now which is 20% off. The owner said if there is more than 4 owners from LYN who does the coating together, he can give a further 10-15% discount.

I will be sending my wife's car there tonite for the coating and Llumar Diamond 6 tinting. So anybody who wants and is confirmed PM me your name, contact no and car registration number.

No. Need to go to Car Accessory shop or buy the bypass and DIY. I only tag you the video showing how to do it. I haven't done it myself. Android Auto have not allowed Waze yet, but already confirmed that they're working together to put in on AA - Google owns Waze now. Currently, only Google Maps is available on AA and Apple Maps on CarPlay. If you get the Honda Civic TC-P, you also get navigation - Garmin.
