Probably your projector, like most 480p and 720p projectors, accept 1080p but downscale it to your native resolution. smile.gif

Bro Tim - I dunno about ur sony but de oppo 981 can upscale to 1080p(from Faroudja processing if not mistaken) from SDVD's no need BR or HD DVD la.... I would have gotten de sony if not for tis feature, not worth to go to all dat trouble...

Just think about it, how can a native 720 projector display a 1080 picture? IF the through aspect is available, then you will not see the whole picture, i.e. only displya 720 lines out of the 1080 from the original signal.

Apologies if this is already obvious, can de Oppo 981 output a 720p signal? If can, I would feed a 720p signal to the TW700. Coz I dun think using the Oppo to upscale to 1080 and then the TW700 to downcale back to 720 does the picture quality any good. In addition the upscaling by Faroudja still cannot come close to a proper BR or HD DVD. Coz remember, standard 480 lines of standard DVD only has so much details. Faroudja cannot "make" more detail from that original signal.

And I am going to do tat - oppo output 720p will do ...

As for BR and HD DVD, I wont be going tat route anytime soon ... so will just enjoy wat is available now. Just to project a bit - by de time tis 2 come down to regular joes like us in Boleh land, itll be time to upgrade to 1080p liao....provided I still wanna go front projection, that is...

Diden mean to say twice. Having flu now, so I diden even notice I press twice blush.gif . Shy oni. The change in weather hot to wet and cold within a day for a few days.... then my kids sick.... in the end I also kena.

When it comes time to replace the TW700 projector, a year or more from now, there may be other more affordable large format viewing equipment... as such we do not have to stick to front projection. It is after all a means to an end.

Instead of LCD TV, you may be able to get LCD wall.... just pasang like wall paper!!! Must be the antibiotic and painkillas tokking now. Going to rest now.

Bro dirtrun, I am excited for you. All the pieces for your HT seem to be coming together nicely. Please pos pics of the screen.

Bro psp_boy, wanna give a description of your HT setup... the room I mean.

Talking about sticking at 720p.... actually we do not have any source for 720p material locally. My 720p material come from HDTV material off the www. So in reality, except for the projector, there is really nothing holding us at 720p technology. Standard DVD is at 480 and HD/BR at 1080. 720 technology seems to be in a sort of comfort zone... better than the rest but not quite up there yet. But upgrade we must.... but we will do so at our own leisurelah.

I have yet to hear from my designer since the last time I told her I want it MY WAY. Called her recently and she said she is "digesting" my ideas and proposal. She will put it all together "soon", guess this is what you cal artist's privelege, cannot hurry wan. Basically this is going to take more time than expected.

I did not get any new DVDs this week, so I am planning a run through Star Wars Ep. VI, V, and VI this weekend.

19 feet long, 15 feet wide, very high ceiling. black out drapes, even when it's 12:00 p.m. and it's blazing hot and sunny outside, I can make the room as dark as 12:00 a.m.

rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif

Now... this is the problem. Accordin to him, they can't refund the money direct to me... They have to go through the dealer who I bought it from.

And its like, I bought at RM10, the dealer got it at RM6... (example only)... so, how about the RM4?

Will the dealer give back to me the balance RM4?
That is the question.

sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

The manager also hinted that I can opt for the higher end model AE1000... and the price he "accidently" mentioned was like RM4.9k cheaper.... shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif

So... drool or not? But I don't want to spend so much money... Who wants? I sell u at that price + RM1k. Kekekeke...

Then I call it quit. I use my 29" TV... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Now I blur... I blur whether I will be able to get back my money or not

Looks like you have been given the usual run-around crap. Tai chi. So no one is taking the responsibility give you full refund.

But if they are willing to sell you the Ae1000 at 5k discount .... isn't that about the same as your AX100 price?
