Looks like you have been given the usual run-around crap. Tai chi. So no one is taking the responsibility give you full refund.

But if they are willing to sell you the Ae1000 at 5k discount .... isn't that about the same as your AX100 price?

Ohhh No no!!!! shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

I guess you guys like to pay near retail prices for your purchases..
things like projectors have a large difference between SRP and street prices.. (unlike computer parts)
and as you have mentioned you were offered 5k below SRP (I think 14999) for the AE-1000 ...so going through the right channels and talking to the right contacts will get you a very good price..

Wow... Seems l am getting distant soon. Kekeke... All of you are "growing" and I am stuck here.

Anyway... Panny manager just called me that they are willing to take back the item and give me refund or ...

unsure.gif  unsure.gif  unsure.gif

Now... this is the problem. Accordin to him, they can't refund the money direct to me... They have to go through the dealer who I bought it from.

And its like, I bought at RM10, the dealer got it at RM6... (example only)... so, how about the RM4?

Will the dealer give back to me the balance RM4?
That is the question.

sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

The manager also hinted that I can opt for the higher end model AE1000... and the price he "accidently" mentioned was like RM4.9k cheaper....  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  drool.gif  drool.gif  drool.gif  drool.gif

So... drool or not? But I don't want to spend so much money... Who wants? I sell u at that price + RM1k. Kekekeke...

Then I call it quit. I use my 29" TV...  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Now I blur... I blur whether I will be able to get back my money or not

Hi,

Poor poor Tim... Looks like youll be getting de short end of de stick huh...

I doubt very much Eu*o*oin is gonna do tat and refund you their profit
so if you do get a refund it will be de distro figure only...

If I were you I'd live wif de PJ la ... problem pj oso better than 29in tv la... IMO

On another note my screen is up but now I am at work and dead tired cos have to clear up de mess those guys made after they left... we'll see how it goes later tonite...

I have oso noticed a slight defect on my image too - just noticed it after de screen is up but I guess I'll live wif it(there was a case of this in AVS too) cos its minor and de pics are really no comparison coming from 34inch crt...

Feel really sorry for you , bro Tim..

Timothyy, Don't understand why the refund or upgrade is the only options. What about actually fixing the problem in 1st place? They can't do that even? If so, that's bad of Panasonic's image.

We all know that some have problem some don't. And can't compare to overseas consumer policy, everything not satisfied can get money back.

So, if panasonic is telling the unlucky ones "too bad" .... then too bad lah. whistling.gif

Bro Dirtrun,

I am interested to know more about this defect that you are getting from your unit. From my unit and the other units that I have helped others to acquire, the only issue is a very slight misconvergence of the 3 LCD panels. The extent og the misconvergence of the panels is as follows:
1. red shift downwards by half a pixel
2. green to the right by half a pixel.

Almost all units have this issue but only when viewed up close. At viewing distance everything is A-OK thumbup.gif THe other thing that is starting to annoy me is the SDE, but only when the movie is boring and slow!!!

Bro Tim,

So have you decided to stick with the AX100 or move on up to the AE1000. I would have requested for a new unit for evaluation before I made a final evaluation. But please do not go back to 29"CRT. Tell us which way you have decieded to go.

I must admit the recent spate of talks about 1080 and HD/BR has got me hands itching and me wallet aching!! But I do not think the Minister of Home Affairs will approve of the upgrade, especially since she believes the setup is now perfect!

Cheers

Hi bros,

Well bro Tim, I guess I am too much of a noob to give a proffesional opinion but if you value a noobs perspective ---

As I have just got my elcheapo diy designed screen up ... I can vouch de images are good. I dont see any SDE unless I walk up to 4 ft near so its no problem, tat, really...colours are good and brightness is fine too as at de brightest setting - u can watch a movie in a normal living room with just de drapes drawn in de daytime - cant really vouch about de darker settings as my eyes are still being trained (from CRT) to accept a darker image. At nite time viewing I will use de theater black 1 setting which is really dark and its fine wif my eyes so far (like I said still training de eyes...)

My problems wif de aspect ratios is not a problem of de epson cos I now just live wif what I get(especially wif some d5/d9, u pay for wat u get) anyway settings now at oppo outpput 720p - ws auto and at epson end normal .

I have also noticed dat my image is a bit lopsided that is on de right side it is about a third of an inch shorter than de lefts 54inches - you will notice tis while on test patterns but once watching a movie it virtually disappears and no it is not fixed wif keystone cos de other 3 sides are all straight - a problem this - maybe but I decided to live with it as de hassle of trying to make a claim and not to mention no usage and uprooting of my room setup while being sent back and all tat, I figured heck I ll live wif this for awhile - anyway warranty is 2yrs for de Tw700 so lots of time still for other things to go wrong...

In conclusion I am happy and I ll recommend this to a person who can spare 6k for a FP and I'd also like to say I am happy I changed my mind to de epson instead of Panny ax100 althou' I cannot guarantee dat de image on de epson is much better dan de panny cos never seen side by side but yes overall I am happy - tired but happy(hehehe not getting much sleep bcos watch movies mah)

Cheers
Dirtrun
PS bro J - Aiyoh upgrade to BR/HDDVD and 1080p PJ will likely set you back another 10k at least (depreciation of ur current tw700 considered and an upgrade of new source) unless u can cut a deal like Bro T la and ya de tw1k is great - same body but diff innards altogether - Ill get dat over de panny ae1k IMO...

I have no lopsided image from mine or any other unit. All corners of my image are of equal length and at right angles. Here is somthing you can check.

1. Verify that the projector and the screen is exactly parallel to each other. Take it from me, even if it out by 1/8th inch, the effect on the screen would be an inch or more.

2. The base of the projector must be level, i.e. don't angle the projector at all, just use the lenshift mechanism to move the picture to the correct position.

Good Luck.

Hiya,

I checked all dat several times and if indeed tat is de case I mean of uneven feet or not perpendicular straight(to de screen), de image will be angled into a trapezoid but in my case the 3 sides(2 corners are right angled) are true and straight but de fourth side is out by about half to a third of an inch - visible on test pattern but not visible on anything else even de oppo screensaver it is not discernable and if in a movie unless I mention it, I doubt you will notice. I noticed this when fitting de screen to de wall as de Pj was on at de testpattern image to help in de exact place to fit de screen but after everthing was up was tellin de guy your screen is not of de correct specs(it sure looked like de screen was at fault) until he meaured for me and true to his word his screen was okay but my test pattern was out - go figure huh...

Anyway, there was an incident I read in AVS about tis too, so I figure I was a bit unfortunate I got one of these but if I remember de guy in AVS couldnt get it quite right too and in the end I think he returned it for another unit or sumthing but dat in de US okla ... over here email enquiry to Customer Service hasnt been replied - nearly a week already... wanna change unit ... ha ... besides I dunt have de time to entertain them to come to my house for viewing de problem - too bz ... well at least until I find it a to be real problem then I might consider but at de moment like I said while watching a movie it is not visible(even my wife was trying to look for de small little bit wif no pics but couldn't) so I ll leave it at that.

Cheers
Dirtrun

Hi guys, it's my first post in LYN and hope to find some help. Hv used my panny AE300 for >3 years and logged >2.5K hours and bulb is dim. It's still OK 'cos it's in full light controlled room but what troubles me lately is the CRT pj like "burnt-in" problem, e.g. after watching 4:3 or 2.35:1 movie and back to 1.78:1 movie, I would get "burnt-in" effect of seeing the previous AR "box" appearing in dimmer light ouput. However it will recover after a movie or 2 in the same AR. Anyone knows what's the problem? Aged bulb or aged LCD panel?

Is it time to upgrade? Have tried to find excuses to upgrade (getting the CFO's approval). biggrin.gif
