I feel that this this AI hype is getting overblown.

NVDA is kinda like FOMO now..It's so expensive.. Traiing PE at 230, forward PE now at 60.  Everybody wants in, the paid-analysts calling for buy, and every dips get bought until it doesn't.  Then, we'll get crying game when it turns south.. devil.gif

I think I'll park some of my money with US CDs now.. looking for 5.5% yield, maybe Powell and team will jack up another 25bps this week 'coz inflation not backing down yet.
*
From the news around, Institute/fund managers recalculate the NVDA market and find that, they underestimate the NVDA in AI. The massive market and demand in the future.

Unless understand what is AI and the market future of it, otherwise you will see this company is overblown and crazy PE.

Looking at the NVDA market, they don't have a competitor at the moment. AMD is taking the 2nd sit to offer cheaper product but lower spec. The demand for nvda data centers and chips is high. Demand over the supply. Even Elon said Tesla Would Buy More Nvidia AI Chips, If Only Nvidia Had Enough of Them.

Next month NVDA earnings will know where will the price be. From the Q1 earning and they said, Q2 data center earnings will be high compared Q1.

I foresee that Q2 will pop. Unless correction is coming (maybe this 3month), will see 500+ before the end of yrs.

200+ is history for nvda and 350 is min.

Hmmm... I do like that gap to fill at 350.. the options premiums are juicy for NVDA. Selling 30 days out PUTs at 350 still can make good money if bullish momo continues on for next 30 days. Needs $35K in collateral to play this game. devil.gif

I bought some Taiwan ADR listed in NYSE early last year. Last year, I received the dividend without any tax deduction. However, today I just received this year dividend with 21% tax deduction, anyone know what is the reason? Can I claim back the tax deduction?

How about other US stocks and ETF like Microsoft and S&P 500 ETF? Are all the dividend tax (usually 30%) can be claimed back?
Thank you.

I am the opposite of you. Sold out portion of my big tech holdings around march - may period this year, took the money and put into inverse etf and short dated put in anticipation of bad qr earnings and weak economic data.

In the end loses almost 80% of it while all the big tech i sold like meta when parabolic.

Cant catch a break this 2 years. Lucky balance of stock dint sold their capital gain cover my losses so more or less just break even ytd.

As of july closed all short position and now just riding the uptrend with my balance tech portfolio

I am still of the opinion the market is overvalued and we need a valuation adjustment.

But probably timing i got it wrong.

Interesting analysis of the credit card industry in the US. For Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, and US banks' investors.

FT Opinion: On Wall Street

Heavy credit-card users are key in the Fed’s inflation battle
Demand for credit may be falling in some areas, but plastic is a different story

Not sure how you play.

Correction might on the way in this few month. But that doesn’t mean need to sell away. Buy more if the price cheap enough from the correction.

After correction, the stock will fly to a new high.

Being too greedy, trying to time and earn from upside as well aa downside was the undoying.

So for now just go for long only and wait for a good entry price like you said.

Not likely this year 🤦‍♀️ possible major correction come next year Feb

It will be just slight bumpy this year but the market unlikely to test this year low during April

Trimming to lock in gains is rather prudent at this time now until August

US is not like other stock markets. The green wave is strong here. Just make sure to avoid stocks that are too overvalued or have a high risk element. Most top stocks are overvalued already whether we like it or not. If the company has good track record, and you are confident, then go for it biggrin.gif

The bears are roaming now. So timing issues and a streak of bad luck.

But its ok, no need to be greedy and try to profit from every movement. Just wait for chance to go in again at decent valuations.
