Yes default. Mine is local set. Not sure if that make any difference. Using Sony headphones with one button only.
You can get it from DirectD. Just help my friend to buy yesterday. Snapdragon, everything is like from Mi Malaysia, except the warranty is to them. Pre-installed play store too. Not too sure if it will be wipe off if factory restart though.

Got mine from DirectD as well, price is not as cheap as compared to Gem5 or Lazada. 699 for 16gb/2gb RAM version at DirectD but if add a bit more can get 32gb/3gb RAM from Gem5 or Lazada

In terms of software, it came installed with some other launcher and software  but just to be sure, always flash units bought from unofficial retailer to the official Global stable/dev ROM wherever you can

Err... there are limits to what you can do to extend battery life. RN3 uses IPS LCD, so it is one screen by itself unlike AMOLED, which is individual diodes. The thing is, I've been reading about people posting on trying to extend battery life by not updating and what not, is it really that important? At the end of the day, you still have to charge it.

At the end of the day, it still has limitations. You don't need to extend to the point where it becomes anal. Besides, what are powerbanks for  ?

P.S. My RN3 on Global Beta will always end up with about 50% charge at the end of the day after heavy calls, SMS, WhatsApp, WiFi and not, the next morning it will have about 45% until I get to work and until the middle of the day I will probably charge it. Really, the battery life of RN3 is very good, there is no need to go to extreme lengths just to extend a couple of minutes.
