I had the Note 5 before I switched to the Mate 8 and my own opinion is that the photo quality is equally good in good lighting but in low light conditions the Note 5 had better photos. Well, for me, that is. Still, I'd take the Mate 8 over the Note 5 just because the battery life is far superior.

I won't go against any of your opinion, but overall Note 5 has clearer, sharper, and faster camera, these are facts and not opinion, unless you're saying how well the color produce, how the way you take picture and strategy of holding the phone, those could change the total outcome of the picture, but as a take and shoot person, Note 5 is just generally better.

im using note 5 before change to mate.
for camera note 5 is the best camera i ever use in smartphone.
but overall mate 8 camera is not dissapointed me.quite nice but lack in sharpness.
need to edit sharpness after snap a photo and the camera will be very near quality with note 5. i wish nougat update will have sharpness option in camera setting.

I think it is not easy to differentiate the photo quality among the flagship phone nowadays. Most of us only take photo & view in phone only, if the screen is 2k, of course picture will be better. But i tried my friend's S7 camera, it is obviously better in focus speed & low light.

yup.but everyday min get 6hrs sot for normal use
